  1. Well not so much carved as it is painted. No way I could make these guys look like i wanted to on a 3 inch wide strap otherwise. this is kinda my style niche anyway. Thanks for the compliment
  2. He has 3 dogs, he wanted them on his guitar strap.
  3. Here is a strap I did for a fellow last week.
  4. Same here as Sanch, the edge caught my eye. Otherwise nice job. I like the buckle, who is the source?
  5. A large box shows up in the mail, and I was a bit puzzled as to what may be inside. Got my copy of Al Stohlman's How To Carve leather today. heard many people talk about it. I figured I would pick it up to maybe help me with some design techniques. It was cheap enough. But, dang I didn't expect it to be that big in size. Not exactly a book you can stack with other books on the shelf.
  6. That is a neat looking saddle.
  7. Welcome to the forum.

  9. I googled leather bush hat I think, and it was on instructables site. I will find it later and post, if you can't find it.
  10. I like it, nice and rustic looking.
  11. Tips are icing on the cake. That just means the person recognized you were not trying to take advantage and appreciated the piece, IMHO. Just hope the check clears. lol.
  12. Wow, thank you for the compliment. Thank you,. I found a how to online. I made my pattern off that onto posterboard. It was to small, so I had to redraw it and keep cutting out the inside of the brim pattern till it fit my head loosely. It still ended up being tight after everything was sewn together. So I had to wet it and stretch it to fit my head. I still hae some work to do on the measuring thing myself. I think it would be hard to make these for someone else by mail order. Relying on someone to measure their own head correctly would be chancy.
  13. No, but I have thought about it.
  14. Nail head rivets, as mentioned above. A demo here. http://www.supplyzonediy.com/how-to-rivet-with-nail-head-rivets-and-use-the-wrap-n-tap-tool/

  17. Very cool. Looks like something fun to make. I watch forged in fire all the time.
  18. If you are on a desktop you can resize the photos in Paint program. Resave them back to your folder then just add them to the post. No need for photobucket or other pic hosts. I do it all the time.
  19. Hard to tell by the pic, did you cut it out of a piece of leather and have it laying on top of another?
