  1. Hi there Ryan, I didn't make the belt, just liked the two of them together. :D I agree with you on the strap end and it would have been better to do it a little longer. The good thing is this particular snap will release with rolling the edge of your finger on it. You don't have to grab it (if that makes sense) The background was tooled using a matting stamp and it was only done in the section on the front. I appreciate the kind words. Scott
  2. Hello all, I hope each of you are doing well. Just wanted to share a holster I finished up this week. Comments and Critique are always welcome. Enjoy! Scott

  9. Hi James, my stitch groover is nothing fancy. I picked it up at Tandy when I started. I bought both types, meaning one cutter is along the central axis of the handle and the other one the cutter is on the side bar (I prefer to use this one for some reason) I think each of them are around $10-12 at Tandy. I don't see a name on them. These sheaths are so thick that I decided to drill the holes instead of chisel. It was done on a drill press with what I believe was a 1/8" bit. Thanks for the interest! Scott Thank you kindly. I really like contrasting thread a lot especially if you can get a nice stitch in. Thanks again
  10. Hi there. Thank you so much. Yes they are recessed with a groover. I prefer the look as well as abrasion resistance. You are too kind. Keep challenging yourself!!! Cheers my friend!
  11. Thank you very much. You are correct, it is a drill but used for drilling oil wells. At the time I did it I was pleased with it. I think I could make it look better now. I appreciate the interest. Scott
  12. That is a dang nice piece of work. I love the color and your stitches are on point. Super clean and I am sure he loved it. Well done. Scott
  13. That is an interesting story. I saw a home grown sliver not long ago that was basically a block of wood 4x4? There was a blade clamped in a groove with a c clamp and the guide was very crude. I think it was a ruler fastened down as a guide edge and a credit card to stabilize the leather as it was being pulled through. He was beveling long strips that were probably 3/8" and stretchy. I am not sure if anyone is following me in the design. I will try to find it again. BTW: sorry for the thread hijack earlier. Scott
  14. This is another passport wallet I did when I first started and it was my first commissioned piece. I still need help on my paint techniques but overall the client was very pleased. Cheers! Scott
  15. Hey there, I wanted to share a project I did a few months back. I really enjoyed this one. It is tooled and hand painted and as I have said before..... I am not a painter. Comments are welcome! All the best! Scott
  16. Hey there, I wanted to share a project I did a few months back. At the time it was one of the more challenging to me. Designing the gussets and fastening the coin purse was new to me. It is tooled and hand painted and as I have said before..... I am not a painter. I can still see the spots I would do differently but at the time it was as good as I could do. Comments are welcome! Scott
  17. This is the first belt I ever made and it was for my son who is active currently. He really liked it and wears it daily. Cheers all!
