looking for a pattern for a leather apron
Stonegate replied to ToddW's topic in Patterns and Templates
As fredk mentioned a work apron is a personal item and its design can relate directly to how you like to perform your work and what you'll actually be doing. Do you want something to simply protect your clothing or do you like to have pockets and such to have tools at the ready? Simple or complex make it fit your needs. Adam Savage has an interesting video about making an apron that you can find on YouTube. Also, Terrick from Chartermade has a free pattern on his website and a video about making one : -
Round Leather Lace Making Without any Special Tool
Stonegate replied to nottotell's topic in How Do I Do That?
I made some yesterday to try this method out. Worked well for me. Rolling on a slightly rough surface gave me the best result. I did try my marble slab first... was a more effort and not so great results. That prompted me to go into the shed and grab an extra garden paver stone - that did the trick. Thanks again to the OP for sharing. -

You could register your new business name as a DBA with your state. Paul’s Leather doing business as (DBA) “Super Fine Handbag Boutique”. DBA registration isn’t usually expensive and would allow you to use your new name as a business name instead of a just a product name. Check with your state for their rules about registering and operating under DBA’s. If your idea becomes successful then you can always formalize it with its own business structure, trademarks, etc.. Good Luck!

Useful, easy to use design software - and it's free.
Stonegate replied to KittenThrasher's topic in Computer Help
After you install the software, the first time you start the program there is a box on the right hand side that tells you how to remove that limitation. But the program won’t do this automatically for you. You will have to manually delete the files for the “professional add-on” that are located in the “plugins” folder in the QCAD directory where it was installed on your computer. Sounds harder to do than it actually is. By removing those files the software then becomes the community version.
