    Incredible, thank you for sharing.
  2. I had this link e-mailed to me and felt obligated to pass this information on. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/securityfix/2009/10/avoid_windows_malware_bank_on.html Marc
  3. I saw somewhere that someone used a nylon ratchet strap for the clamps.
  4. Actually there are three articles by Paul Burnett in the Sep/Oct 2009 Leather Crafters & saddlers Journal. Two directly about Baroque, the third pertaining to Baroque. In the main article he was referencing Dover publications http://store.doverpublications.com/0486235963.html , and most of their clip art books feature copyright free art. Marc
  5. beautiful, where are the 1873's and saber? I did my basic a Ft. McClellan, and always found it funny that the army named a base in the south after a northern general who was relieved of duty.
  6. I saw another posting on this board where someone used a laser engraved and it was a photo quality. now this is making sense.
  7. Also, that is some kind of chrome tanned leather.
  8. Great work all around LOBO, how did you get an extra three hours in your day? Where is the form to fill out? On serious question, what does the backside of the belt slide look like?
  9. I want to see what develops with this. What I'm getting is the customer wants a holster mounted crossdraw (on the drivers side lower post), that the seat belt slides through.
  10. THE KING OF NEVER NEVER LAND SHALL BE APPEASED! IN DOING SO, NEVER TELL HIM THAT HE IS NAKED!
  11. You might want to look in solid brass hardware?
  12. It all looks good from here. For me half of the fun is making my own patterns. Hope you're feeling better.
  13. This has been bouncing into my head for a week or so. Try using plastic auto body filler (Bondo is the big brand name), check auto body supply shop, much cheeper than auto parts retailer. For the casting of the pattern, try the "duraglass" type filler, much tougher. I would seat the firearm in a plastic bag of some kind, vacume seal or something like that. The last time I purched any type of auto body plastic it was about $20.00 a gallon. I've heard of people making molds and patterns this way for limited production on the cheep. I found this after a two minute google search http://hacknmod.com/hack/the-power-of-bondo-a-comprehensive-tutorial/ Please let us know about progress.
  14. If push comes to shove, you could cut off an commander model slide on the blue gun. I just eyeballed a non colt commander and non colt officer and the dust covers were the same length with my MK I eyeball. Marc
  15. Mine used a half gallon of old white viniger that way laying around, along with some steel wool that the lettering had worn off the bags. I think that some of the "wool" was stainless steel, it didn't want to dissolve. I think I've been branded that weird guy now though, I pocket found rusty nails and screws and bolts at work, many times during conversations with coworkers. I hope they are having fun speculating, it just adds to the myths.
  16. That looks like one of the dover art noveau books http://store.doverpublications.com/0486243540.html
  17. for aging brass play with some Brownells Oxpho-Blue http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=1072/Pr...OXPHO_BLUE_reg_ buckskinners use it to age brass on their new "fittings".
  18. Very nice assortment. Your work has more of a classical European feel, with an Islamic flavor than I am used to seeing. I like your work very much.
  19. I recently found out that Johnsons paste wax is mostly mineral spirits and carnuba wax, and picked some up to use as a bullet lube and noticed on the package it could also be used for leather. That jogged my memory from my youth, a gentleman made some SCA armor from leather, said he baked it with carnuba wax and it felt as hard as wood in my hands (and no it didn't look like a burned steak). I did use some on a utility knife sheath for work, and threw it in the oven (with the oven off, it runs about 120-135) to speed drying from forming, it is pretty hard and has held up great for about a month now. Does anyone have any other experience with carnuba and leather. I was wondering what would be a good way to test it in different ways. At $5.00ish a tub there is room to play.
