  1. https://omtechlaser.com/products/150w-co2-laser-engraver-cutter-usb-gb16-us I needed the large bed size for laser cutting bags.
  2. So the capacity of its extremely light duty, its purely an engraving laser. I'm not saying there isn't a possibility for you to cut at all - maybe enough passes could..., but if you decide to cut with a laser later on you'd want a CO2 laser. The power output of this laser is 5.5-6W.
  3. https://www.cyclonefpv.com/products/sculpfun-s6-pro-laser-engraving-machine This laser? Correct? I'll comment after you confirm or send the link to the proper laser.
  4. What laser do you have? It may come down to speed and settings? ( I have a 150w laser that I use to cut bags all the time ).
  5. I mean - technically you could do this solution with enough engineering behind it. The heads are heavy - so theres a huge challenge. Honestly, you're just overcomplicating and engineering a solution where there isn't really a problem. The time to swap between them would be annoying and frustrating. You'd have weird holes and gaps in your table which may or may not affect mounting. I would just avoid it. You're better off investing in a bigger space if needed.
  6. https://www.jjneedles.com/loose-and-bulk-needles/loose-needles/saddlers-harness-needles-bulk-1.html Holy... I may be purchasing enough needles to last the rest of my career.
  7. For sure. Honestly as someone who sew tons of belts and straps. I doubt I need reverse. I just run a stitch around the entire piece and run over my original threads. I doubt my Juki 441 clone even knows what the reverse lever does. Makes me think that in the future I could pick up a singer and not even worry about reverse.
  8. I understand. I think that a smaller laser would work just fine. I wanted the option of just putting a big side/bend on it and letting it go crazy. It has worked out so far.
  9. I cut large bags on it. Its the table size I was after.
  10. I personally have found that my customers have become more and more intune with the product they're purchasing. As in, they ask now if something is handstitched. The argument about strength is honestly negligible at this point, 92 wt thread on a sewing machine or .8mm ritza. Although from a marketing perspective, customers due tend to gravitate towards solutions in things that people have fears of. Like selling someone on handstitching because they have fears of losing their investment in a machine stitched wallet. The same idea as RFID blocking technology so much so that there has been zero RFID crimes. Huge market towards it. I do like the look of being able to put a larger thread on a thinner piece. We're also at the point in our business were we just sold a 300$ watch band that was laser cut and hand stitched in under an hour. I'm ok with that.
  11. I purchased the omtech one. 150 W https://omtechlaser.com/products/150w-co2-laser-engraver-cutter-usb-gb16-us?_pos=8&_sid=1fa2aca85&_ss=r
  12. I have personally found that initially a lot of my thread issues were due to a low quality thread, specifically junk I found on Amazon. The number one fix in my experience - was to replace the 'bad' thread with quality thread. In general things were a lot more consistent and easier to diagnose when things went wrong.
  13. So one of the challenges with handstitching items is the fact that you have to consider time to punch the holes. So you can get a die made which is extremely expensive with holes or laser cut them. Personally speaking I've moved towards handstitching items. The big caveat is that its laser cut. It allows me to consistently stitch a lot of products in rapid succession. I get done a lot more wallets than before. I had one wallet set quoted out at over a thousand dollars when you factored in stitching holes.
  14. Ahh - I'm out here in NJ. Probably won't be able to help.
  15. Todd where are you located? Have a Techsew 2750 Pro, 2 years old sews just fine. I may be willing to part with it. ( Have a Cobra Class 4 and a laser cutter ). I found that the techsew 2750 ended up being too light duty as we're consistently stitching with 277.
  16. For anyone wanting to buy a weaver leather clicker press - or any other machinery from weaver that is OVER $500. Get a wholesale account if you're a business. The clicker press is $1350 wholesale. https://www.weaverleathersupply.com/wholesale-information It says "Please note that first time orders must total $500.00 or more (excluding shipping charges) or you may purchase a non-refundable wholesale membership for $200.00 if you prefer to place an order under $500.00. If you have any questions about this application, please call us at 800-932-8371 or 330-674-1782." - Its easy to do if you have a business EIN or if you're a sole proprietor and use your SNN. --- Anecdotally I have a friend who is not a business owner - and proceeded to get a wholesale account by claiming they were a SP. That however was not something I have done, nor experienced. I'll let you use your imagination on what he entered to do so.
  17. Seriously? I mean, I'm purchasing English Bridle - and I can't say anything but wonderful things. We've legitimately ordered a few thousand dollars worth of EB from them over the last few months as we finish up some of our HO English Bridle. Now an unfinished / tooling veg? No idea - haven't even touched it. RJF leather is keystone leather.. or rather RJF leather is a distributor of keystone leather. https://www.keystoneleather.com/ American Leather Direct - yeah - we purchased from them too because the crap I was getting from our W&C suppliers (Not W&C direct) kept having disgusting and gouged finished backs. The ALD stuff was better than C or D stuff from W&C. We've had our growing pains with HO stuff too, just not directly from them. Trevor
  18. Hi guys, I think it might help out people to have a more standarized title in the marketplace area. For Instance it can be County | State/Location | Item So if I was selling a Cobra sewing machine it would be USA | NJ | Cobra Sewing Machine - This might help people sort through the posts for things that are close to them.
  19. https://www.rjfleather.com/leather-products RJF Leather is a home run. They're quick to respond. They're close to me so I usually get the leather with in 2 days. The backs are pasted on it, but you might be able to ask for it with an unpasted back. ( I really have no idea if they offer that or not ). The leather is really consistent and I'm a big fan. https://www.rjfleather.com/#contact
  20. I have consistently gotten really bad products from suppliers selling W&C and HO in heavier weights. We've gotten absolutely mangled leather and its expensive to ship it back. So much so that I'd gone ahead and switched to RJF leather for backs and sides of English Bridle. Been very very happy with it. Everything has been a home run. Its making me think about switching back to HO for some products. I'll have to think more on it.
  21. I did not realize that Hermann Oak was doing 10/sides minimum. Thats not that bad at all.... Trevor
  22. What radio model are they using? This was modeled after an XTS 2500 but works on an APX8000. I have a slightly different pattern for an extended basket for the extended batteries.
  23. I do actually.. But its a paper pattern not digital. I'll take time to put it into a digital pattern.
