  1. Hello there. I got the day planner finished, and here it is. You know it takes longer to get photos of my leather, and getting them loaded onto my computer, then it does make it. It is machine sewn and has a zip closure. It is a shade more natural in colour in real life with dark edgeing. All for now. Kiwi
  2. Really great story. So glad you shared it with us all. I would suggest that rather then toothpaste brush splat on to your image I would use a very fine brush and add the snow flakes one at a time. Glance at a snow photo at the same time. Angle them on an angle to look like a blizzard. Oh yeah use diluted white rather then full strength. That way It looks like it is moving in the wind. Apart from that it looks great. Hope that helps you. Kiwi.
  3. I Guys, Thank you for all your great feed. I have just looked at all your replies. I have not been in the site for couple of days. I will also look at the Etsy.com. id not know that site. Sounds like it is good idea to look at doing an ebay site. So Thank you all so much. I will let you know what I think once I get into it. Happy Carving everyone. Kiwi.
  4. I am so sorry for you loss. I lost my german shepard along time ago now. I now think of him running beside me when I ride my horse. I do still dream about him often too. Such great dreams. He was so much fun. The day that I got my small dog over here, I found out that the same day, my small dog back in NZ died. I swear Snicky, (weenie, malteze cross) is Truffles, (malteze, terrier cross, NZ,) born again. That was strange and wonderful day. The Lord found me my best pal. All the best. Kiwi.
  5. I purchased a roll from Tandy and I know that the HideCrafter store stock it. You can also buy from the silver makers a metal lace that is used on saddle cantles. Kiwi.
  6. The swivel Knife. But the poll does not include it so I have to say the Head Knife. Kiwi
  7. I was just wondering if anyone out there sells their wares on Ebay? Do you think that it is worth doing? I do not, but it has crossed my mind lately. Your thoughts would be wonderful on the subject please. Also I have looked at Amazon.com. THANKS. Kiwi.

  12. Well I am back for now. My next foral project is not finished yet so I thought that I would post this picture of a Reining Horse, which was commissioned by the trainer. They gave me their photo, along with the Barn Logo, asked me to put in the corner. The trainer was amazed, as I also added his glasses with the lenses in them. About 2 weeks later, when I saw him next, he had only just noticed the shadow on the wall. I think he is still finding the little details. Enjoy and have a great day carving leather. Kiwi.

    Boot inlays

Outstanding inlays. YOu know it seems a shame that most boot tops are covered up with our jeans. Such wonderful work deserves to be seen. Thanks for posting them. Kiwi.
  14. Hi there Guys. I thank you for the great feed back. Makes me feel good about my work. Yeah I agree the beading takes up a lot of time. Oh yeah, westtxcowboy, I measure the ranger belts by getting the pant or waist size. Then on the the main piece of leather, at one end mark from the end, to the buckle fold slot 2", or the length of the buckle, (from tongue to inside edge of the buckle),. From the end again, I measure to the center or waist size hole point, then added 4 and one half inches to the end of the back leather and cut off extra leather. Attach the billets by threading the buckle billet through and sew it down. I make the hole billet piece around 8 to 9" long. The center hole should be 4 1/2" from the belt back end. I then added around 3/4" more so it goes just off the end of the belt once sewn in place. So in other simple words. Of the say 8 1/2" long total billet the center hole when lined up on the belt, would be 5 1/4" from the pointed end. Line the two marks and sew in place. I hope that helps. Kiwi
  15. Hello There. Thought that you may like to see a ranger belt I have just completed for a client. Also I have needed a pic of some beading for a belt. I should have used the tiny tiny beads and will for the next one. I am now going to try and teach myself how to hitch horse hair. That should be fun. Has anyone done hair belts? Hope you like them. Kiwi.

  22. I was asked by the owner of a 32 yr old horse, if I could do a molded bookend of him. I of course said I would try. She cut me some of his Mane and tail, so I could use it if I could. I made the winners collar of roses, and came with this. Head on one side and his butt on the other side. Oh he stops at his knees so he was not too tall. If I had to do another one I would change a few things like, how I attached him to the wood. Caused quite a few laughs. Do not have a picture of his butt. Thought I had one but seems I don't. Hopes this gives you some luaghs. Kiwi.
