  1. That is great, may have to use some on one. You have me rethinking my pattern.
  2. Forgot to mention the piece is only secured by 2 rivets to the skirt (flap), to remove the holster from the belt easier undo the buckle and it comes right off.
  3. Was wondering if anyone would pick up on it. The piece in the middle of the photo is to prevent the holster from shifting when drawing or holstering the gun. The holster still will slide on the belt, yet has little vertical play. It is 3 pieces of leather 2 for the shelf and one for the keeper all the same thickness as the belt.
  4. Thank you Your welcome, if you have any questions about it let me know. sharing helps us all.
  5. Thank you, the leather was glued to the sides using Barge. Scuffed up the cork for better adhesion and added screw nails to help. The nails were installed after the photos.
  6. It wasn't bad, water and patience were needed when folding the holster. The positive side is it maintains its shape with little flex.
  7. Thank you He has more than I deserve. Thank you, try to build like every piece is for me. Thank you You are right, simple and clean has a charm. Thank you Thank you, it was fun folding.
  8. Finished a holster for a Ruger Blackhawk with 7 1/2 inch barrel. This one reminds me of my step fathers. Built for a lifetime of use. Lefthanded cross draw with loops on the right. This is the first holster I have designed.
  9. Looks good.
  10. Looks great, really like how you secured the clip. Good Job
  11. Thank you
  12. Thank you, I am enjoying it. Worked some on the belt, it is going to be lined and the buckle isn't here yet. Still have the loops to put on.
  13. Thank you, for me they are one of the more time consuming things. All the cutting and beveling on a small scale. Merry Christmas to you also. Thank you for the compliment.
  14. Thank you, He has some good stuff. Made a holster yesterday. It is the Hand of G-d from the movie 3:10 to Yuma. The Whil Ghormley pattern is fun, except for sewing the toe piece. Followed the instructions except for color and a few different stamps .
  15. Yes the acorn pattern was in the pack, had to convert it from the sling without the thumbhole and fill in where he had a place for initials. He has very nice patterns and usually includes various tooling patterns to go with it. Will post when done.
  16. Thank you, the rifle sling is a Don Gonzalez pattern. Thank you Gini is excited for me to finish the other one now.
  17. Thought it might be easier to combine projects into one post. The leather work area we are setting up a tooling only area, I was having problems with glue and dye marks. Now they will be separate. This is what hopefully is going to work for me from learning. Most important things are the lighting which can be raised and lowered, and the body position for longer tooling. This works for me, but we all have different likes and wants. Wanted to try a rifle sling with oak and acorns. Working on a pair of Birkenstocks for Gini, she loves sunflowers. The inside is lined with milled veg-tan. It makes it nice and soft on the foot. First real time working with it.
  18. Thank you
  19. That sounds good, they are pretty also. The acorns and oak leaves. For most of it Clay Miller's figure carving set. They are copies of the original Craftool stamps that have been discontinued. Then some Barry King. Clay's are worth it if you plan on doing a lot of figure carving. I used a large variety of them, some for only a few places.
  20. Thank you, 16 hour in the belt. Thank you, agreed. Only have done stamped before this. Wanting to try floral also. Thank you, easier for me than floral since my drawing skills are lacking. Thank you, his boos will keep you humble. Thank you, many hour pounding leather. Thank you
  21. Wanted to try figure carving a belt. Chose a challenging one. My eyes may have been bigger than my stomach. It is an Al Stohlman pattern.
  22. Thank you Yes Sir
