Does anyone know if the Tandy hand presses use dies from other sources or do they only use Tandy dies? I need a 3/8 or 5/16 hole punch. I've talked to the people at the local Tandy store a couple of times, but they have no idea if a 3/8 punch is available that fits this.

I have a hand press with an assortment of dies for sale. This press is still being manufactured, so the dies are readily available. Minkus Margo sells over 50 types and sizes of dies that include dies for setting snaps, grommets, eyelets, punching holes in leather, setting rivets, setting spots aka nailheads, setting spikes, and setting lots of shapes of decorative rivets. Allstarco also sells dies that fit this press. The brass dies listed here are from Allstarco. They are used for setting rim sets for adding crystal rhinestones to your projects. They also work great for setting spots. This is a great press and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to add decorative elements to their projects. I am a full time professional leather worker. I bought the press and dies when I was starting out. I'm only selling it because I am investing in a larger multi feed foot press so I can work more efficiently. Here is a listing of what is included along with the retail value Hand Press - $114 7mm die for setting spots (approximately 1/4") - $34.99 6mm die for setting rhinestone chatons - $52.99 7mm die for setting rhinestone chatons - $52.99 8mm die for setting rhinestone chatons - $52.99 10mm die for setting rhinestone chatons - $52.99 6 mm die for setting rhinestone rivets - $39.99 Brass die for SS 20 rim set rhinestones - $38 Brass die for SS 30 and SS34 rim set rhinestones - $38 Unopened bag of 300 7mm spots - $10.50 I will send along the crystal chatons that are left for you to practice with. I'm looking for a manual kind of hand clicker die I can either design or buy in the UK. It's for a small item - maybe 1" - 1.5" or so by ¾" with a slotted hole and a round hole in it. Ideally I just need something simple where I can lay out a piece of leather and bash a few out at a time. Any ideas where I can get hold of such a thing in the UK... I'm at a bit of a loss to know where to look. Thanks

I am getting a clicker next month and would like to offer services to other people as long as I don't get 20,000 LOL. I figured it took me 4 years to buy one and maybe some people just have one item they want clicked, like a bracelet. How it would work is like this I think. You would send me your die, tell me what kind of leather you wanted used and pay for me to order that, then from what I've seen so far is the service fee would be $1.00 per minute. If I click you out 4 bracelets in that minute then it would be 25 cents per bracelet plus the price of the leather. Now no matter clicker or not you need leather in this business. So you could get your bracelets in your favorite leather with the only difference being you wouldn't have to cut them. The initial outlay of money would be the die but at this price per product I don't see it taking long to recoup your money in time saved. I could also send the left over leather to you with your shipping price. So again would you rather have someone hassle with it or do it yourself? Thanks, because I'm fairly certain I will be offering this service starting next month. Cheryl

Hi fellow leather artisans! I am at the preliminary stages of starting my business and need some help finding clicker services in and around the Philadelphia area. I reside out of Bucks/Montgomery County and would love to work with some locals here regarding clicking services. Any guidance or help is always appreciated! Thanks, Mike

I'm looking for a manual clicker press, but I need one with a small footprint. Preferably one that is mountable on a workbench. Let me know if you're getting rid of one. Thanks! I'm open to a Weaver, Lucris, or similar design.

Hello, I am new to this forum and I have a question about the Tandy hand press. I just purchased the Tandy hand press because it's on sale. I was disappointed that they didn't have a grommet die to go with this hand press. My question now is if the Weaver Little Wonder dies will fit the Tandy press. If anyone owns the Little Wonder can you then tell me the diameter of the dies? I am hoping to use the Weaver dies for the Tandy press. I live in the UK so it will cost too much to ship the Little Wonder here. Thank You

I am doing a project where I need to make several pieces of leather scale armor. Each chest piece needs ~500 leather scales and I have several different designs planned. I have been told that a clicker die is the way to go. Originally I was told that a custom clicker die for this purpose would likely cost $50-$75. So I rushed out and bought a 12ton shop press, and got some drawings of sample scales. But when it came time to find quotes for the dies, I am getting quotes in the $150-$250 range! Am I shopping at the wrong places? I am moderately handy and have a pretty good wood and metal shop. Am I better off making my own dies? I tried reading about homemade dies and the consensus at CNCzone.com was that it is better to buy a professionally made die rather than make something. Another person suggested that these scales are common enough there probably is someone who already makes dies specifically for these scales. I figured I would be better off getting advice from leatherworkers. Can anyone help guide me?

Hi my friends, I took advantage of purchasing the Tandy craftool press while it was on sale this month. I've been wanting to buy one for years and the price seemed better this month. I made up a quick lasered tool holder that keeps all the dies I bought very handy. I am sure one could be easily be made out of wood or other materials. What do you guys do? I am open for good ideas. Thanks, Joyce~ DIES_STAND.pdf
