Just finished stitching this up. Yellow fauxstrich leather, with topaz gold thread. First time trying out the decorative Norwegian stitch on the handle--that sure takes a long time to do!

This was a piece commissioned to me because I said “I’ll do that for ya!” I started with block letters and made square letters cool

Back around Fall of 2003, I took on my first leatherworking project, a fork bag for my cruiser. I thought it would be less expensive, and making a bag for myself seemed like something I would enjoy. That bag ended up costing me thousands, but I do enjoy trying to make leather stuff...That original bag should have been retired a while ago, but I just got around to it, finished up a new fork bag today. There's plenty I did wrong, and my skills haven't come as far as I'd like over the years, but I learned a lot on this one. I think I'll try again soon, but I have some gifts to finish first.

A customer ruined his tool bag the first time he cranked the $36,000 (used price). It was basically a leather sheet with two ashtrays as end caps. I gave him a one and only creation! The end caps have names and are two distinct characters - Louie and Ralph (names determine the side of the bike they are on)

Hey all, I wanted to provide an update for the leather tool bag work that I am doing. A number of you have provide much appreciated feedback and advise, for which I am quite grateful and indebted. I elected to write up my update as a series of brief posts each attached to an appropriate photo. Due to the file size format of this forum, I am going to link to the Imgur album that I created. Hopefully, this format works well for everyone and remains in keeping with the forum. TOOL BAG UPDATE Best regards, Patrick

So, I've been wanting to do one of these tool pouches for awhile now and I finally got the chance. I sized it up to fit in the turnout/bunker pants and can be removed when/if needed. It's set up to fit the tools and keep them in place for easier access instead of rolling around in the pockets. It also prevents the tools to from eventually wearing through the pockets and having to continuously get them repaired (firefighters will know what I'm talking about). I went with a 5/6 oz veg tan and added an extra piece on the top portion (9-11 portion) for a little more rigidity when your removing it from the pocket. Some nice strong copper rivets to hold the tools in place and keep them secure. A clip to attach anything on a ring like keys or in this case, some allen wrenches. I decided to go with this configuration of the pouch instead of a wet form to keep the bottom of the pouch 1 piece. I figured if I had more stitches on the bottom, the wear and tear would break it down a little quicker. I don't know if that would be true but I went with it anyway. It is a little heavier than I wanted but with what it's going to be put through, I needed to make it durable. Anyway, I'll take any constructive criticism or suggestions you want to through at me…thanks.

I want to make a bag for an electrician friend. Specifically a tool bag and belt. I have looked at pictures but have not been able to make a pattern so I come to the place where I know someone will head me in the right direction. I have looked at the bag tutorial here, and even though it is not exactly what I wanting to do I may go with it anyway and make some dividers for tools inside the bag and some loops of some type on the outside for other tools. I just didn't want to reinvent the horse so to speak.

My friends wife asked me to make him a tool bag for his bike, so this is my interpretation. Not a standard bag I suppose, but a little more minimal., if that even makes sense! It is made from 5-6 oz black Horween chromexcel. I am really spoiled when I work with this leather. It is simply awesome! I need to make a hat or something out of it so I can smell this stuff all day! Comments and critiques are welcome! Thanks!
