It disappears after some period of time.  So there is only a limited amount of time for you to go back to edit your post.  If there is something that really needs fixed that a second post can't clarify, you can ask a moderator to edit it for you.  Click the report button and tell what needs edited and a bit of why if suitable.

It is totally nonexistent. Went to add something RIGHT AFTER I posted, and NO Edit button!

@Johanna something strange going on here.  The edit button doesn't appear for some, but does work for most.

My edit button is where it should be, at the bottom of this post. Do you post on your phone, Frodo? I am pretty sure it's whatever method you are using to post that's causing the problem, and not the LW website...

to be honest the way bone fingertips with my big fingers on a small key I need the edit button.  I also hzz a vdd ed ca learning disability  so guess what ?

yhe lacking the edit button is technically  a ADA violation against broken and socially retarded people like myself.

This appears to be a problem on your device.  Are you using a phone?  I really dislike the small keyboards.  I have to keep backing up and re-typing my comments.  So I use a computer most of the time where my fingers fit the keyboard.  I still make lots of typos, but much easier to correct.  I'll have to setup a login on my phone and see what the screen looks like as to what happens to the edit button.  Normally it's there for an hour or two before it expires.

Okay, I set up access on my cell phone so now I can see what the typical screen should look like on a phone.

First of all, are you expecting the "Edit" button to be on the screen while you are submitting a reply or post?  If that is the case, no, there is no "Edit" button.  You have access to correct what is on the screen until you hit the "Submit Reply" button.  After it is submitted, you need the "Edit" button.

If you are going back to a post you just made and submitted, there should be an edit button at the bottom of the post.  Starting in the bottom left corner, you should see a "+" sign, then "Quote", then "Edit", then maybe "Options".  I have the options item, you might not as I have extra tools that users don't have.

Please note that the "Edit" button option times out.  It's only there for a short period of time, maybe an hour or two.  (Have never figured out how long, as it is there for moderators all the time.)  Then you would have to quote and make a correction in a new reply, or report it and ask a moderator to fix it for you and explain what the fix is that is required.

As far as ADA goes, maybe your device needs to be ADA compliant.  So a much larger tablet or keyboard to make it easier to hit the right characters.
