Wanted to try figure carving a belt. Chose a challenging one. My eyes may have been bigger than my stomach. It is an Al Stohlman pattern.

You definitely got figure drawing worked out.

Thank you, easier for me than floral since my drawing skills are lacking.

Your belt Looks great! & yeah I've been teaching myself & watching a lot of tutorials on floral/Sheridan style leather carving. For my 1st project I'm thinking oak leaves & acorns for a belt.

May I ask what all tools you used on your belt? I know you probably used beveler stamps for sure, but what else style stamp/figure carving tools were used?

Thanks.

That sounds good, they are pretty also. The acorns and oak leaves.

For most of it Clay Miller's figure carving set. They are copies of the original Craftool stamps that have been discontinued. Then some Barry King. Clay's are worth it if you plan on doing a lot of figure carving. I used a large variety of them, some for only a few places.

Thanks I appreciate your input, I'll look into some clay Miller stamps for figure carving.

Really nice work!

Only change that I would make would be the cow on the end. I would either move to the end and make it face in or move it back so it doesnt get holes.
