I have seen some plans posted in past but the links are all gone.  Looking to build a stiching horse - need some plans to work off of.  Any help appreciated.

Quite a few on here have made their own and I don't think they used plans (I didn't). The basic concept is pretty simple, just look at a few photos and decide what type you want to build. If you want to build one of those old-time types that you sit on then that is a different kettle of fish as they are a bit more complex (but still doable).

If you buy this book. There is 4-6 pages with every measurement, nut, bolt, screw needed to make a stitching pony.

I have a PDF of plans I found somewhere online, just for occasions like this, where somebody is looking for plans:

I used the plans in an old book called "farm woodwork": https://ia802605.us.archive.org/32/items/farmwoodwork00roeh/farmwoodwork00roeh.pdf

You can see the final result of my build here:

The only thing I am not so happy about is that I made the strap for tightening the clamp out of some too soft veg tan leather. I should have used something better for making the strap. It resulted in that the holes started to tear in the strap when I used it. I have later repaired it with an old piece of strap from a saddle.

The stitching horse work very well and the instructions are easy to follow.

Have fun building whatever model you choose.

The link kept timing out on me.  I knew I had a copy so went looking for it.  Here it is, small download for you all.  @rdahlinspeedboy77

Super :-)

I think I have the pdf somewhere as well, but at the moment we are on the ship, so even thinking of attaching a file is like asking for trouble.

First post here:)

A german guy built a small and simple one which I used as an instruction for my own built. Many drawings, photos and even a video here: https://www.rabomslederkiste.de/naehpony-wie-wird-es-gebaut-und-worauf-ist-zu-achten/

Greets, Christian

That's a pony not a horse.

I built this pony with scrap laying around the garage.  Works quite well.

Or look at this:

There is a set of plans here:

I added notched aluminum plates to my Weaver stitching horse, based on a suggestion for sewing straps in the Stohlman hand sewing book.  I find this very handy for clamping odd shapes, such as sewing a buckle and fixed loop on the end of a strap, or sewing the edge of a raised leather piece.  The space between the tabs works like an ordinary clamp but I often suspend the work between the tabs when I have different thicknesses and odd shapes.
