Didn't know where to ask this. Is there a like button anywhere? If I like a comment in a thread, I'd like to be able to hit a like. If I made sense here! Lol

Sorry bsshog40 . . . personally I've often thought it would be a really nice addition . . . but it probably is more than a 30 minute fix.

May God bless,

Worked in a prison for 30 years if I aint shiny every time I comment its no big deal, I just don't wave pompoms.

@bsshog40

I think it could be a deliberate choice to not have a "like" button.
An old horse forum in Denmark pretty much died within a month or two after adding "like / dislike" buttons.
Suddenly nobody commented on threads anymore, all the discussion was lost and that sort of took the charm out of the forum.

So I tend to do like @chuck123wapati simply just reply a short remark that you like the content :-)

I don't know, I think if someone doesn't know much about a thread that's posted, but likes the content of the thread, a like button would let the original poster at least know someone read their post. Having to quote and then add a comment or emoji, tends to lengthen threads out soo far that most just get forgotten or just someone not wanting to read multiple pages of two word replies.

a personal comment suits better here I´d say.

I never hit any like or dislike button - no matter where. But I´m Generation X and not very social media affine anyway.

I dislike "like" buttons and never use them if they're there. On one forum a member who seemed to think he was particularly "helpful" (he wasn't) had a sig line asking people to "like" him if they found his post useful. He was obviously trying to gather likes! I've never felt the need for such ego-building, if my post is helpful to anyone that's great, if not so what. If I find a post particularly useful I'll say so in the post.

For me ....... if I don't have  time for at least a couple of words to show my feelings on a topic , I am to busy to be fooling around on a forum :spoton:

Well I guess the majority here is no "like" button. Lol I for sure won't be bringing that up again. 🤣

It is funny tho' how this thread gets more replies than actual leather threads. Lol
