Members Akers Posted February 13, 2020 Members Report Posted February 13, 2020 I know this is a long time since the original post, but I've only been doing leather work for about 6 months and just found this web site. Here are a couple of the first things that I made for my daughters as a Christmas gift. Quote

Members Akers Posted March 8, 2020 Members Report Posted March 8, 2020 Thanks Chuck, hang in there you'll get it.I'm pretty new at leather work, I started last July. I timmed my self on this last one, it took me just over 10 hours from start to finish. Making the checkers and stiching is what took me so long. Lol. The checkers is two 5 to 6 oz pieces glued together. Quote

I guess that's how you learn new stuff lol. A ton of mistakes but it looks good at five feet or so. The checkers are deer and elk antler. Quote

Members Akers Posted March 23, 2020 Members Report Posted March 23, 2020 My girls do but I don't. Lol Quote
Members Retswerb Posted May 4, 2020 Members Report Posted May 4, 2020 These are really cool guys, thanks for sharing! One question though, does the board lay flat enough to easily play when it’s been stored rolled up for a while? Quote
Members Akers Posted May 13, 2020 Members Report Posted May 13, 2020 I use 5-6 oz leather that is pretty soft. When I unroll it, I roll it the opposite direction then back again and it lays flat. I'm not sure about using heavier or stiffer leather. Mark Quote
