At my home shop, most of my sewing is canvas, Sunbrella, and vinyl, so my machines reflect that, although some could be used for thin leathers. I make fitted covers for home and farm equipment use out of used vinyl (discarded cotton module tarps, truck tarps, and billboard fabrics), and repair awnings, tents, tarps, boat covers, pool covers and the like. Most of my sewing is on used, often dirty, and sometimes hard to feed slippery materials. I do a large portion of my sewing outside. The machines that I use are a mixture of industrial and household machines.

My machines aren't the heavy duty leather stitchers, because I build nylon gear, but here is what I use. Juki 1182 double needle with split bar. Juki 1508 as my dedicated binding machine. Juki 2810-7 as my main straight stitch machine. Consew 227R cylinder arm machine, Artisan 618SC, and Adler 167GK-373.dcbe92b4-ad3f-4f83-9654-4f3705a4fc60_zps981a2ef5.jpgf70a2065-981d-4392-92ec-eec2991a4c0d_zps8a50a573.jpgd334e1b0-e6c7-4321-83ac-ff51b2078656_zpsc860f241.jpg3a33b49a-24e3-46c2-8b85-283cba64291b_zps37663d4c.jpg67b8ba76-220e-4ce7-9fe2-76b73c03b2f7_zps1aec6e56.jpg20ad734d-6114-4279-9ed3-6e19f45aa717_zpsace857f5.jpg
