Members tboyce Posted November 28, 2015 Members Report Posted November 28, 2015 We all have people we'd like to give meaningful gifts to but can't afford to buy for everyone. Weaver leather has harness bells pretty inexpensive and a few of those, some scrap leather and about an hour of your time makes nice jingle bell door hangers. I can tell you from experience that they are well recieved Quote
Jaymack Posted November 28, 2015 Report Posted November 28, 2015 Great idea. Thanks for sharing. Quote
Members Rohn Posted November 28, 2015 Members Report Posted November 28, 2015 I like it. Thanks for the suggestion. Quote
Members Ole South Posted November 28, 2015 Members Report Posted November 28, 2015 I like that Tb! In the spirit of easy gifts... from scraps laying around and a few beads: Quote
Members Memorymode Posted November 28, 2015 Members Report Posted November 28, 2015 Good idea! I made something similar to teach my dog to ring it when he needs to go outside. Quote

Members bland Posted November 29, 2015 Members Report Posted November 29, 2015 TBoyce, how did you lace the bells in? Slots in the leather? It is a great gift idea! Quote
Members tboyce Posted November 30, 2015 Author Members Report Posted November 30, 2015 There are ballots in these bells. They have holes. I used Chicago screws to put them in. You'll either need a really thin and long tweezers to grip the screw and put it through the hole or a magnetic screwdriver and the patience of Job. Quote
Members kiwican Posted November 30, 2015 Members Report Posted November 30, 2015 Im going to be making some valet trays Quote
Members TheFalkonite Posted November 30, 2015 Members Report Posted November 30, 2015 Great tooling indeed; I really like that idea! I mentioned I'm making ornaments out of leather rounds and cork coasters to give to households in my family to mark the birth of my first child. Nothing crazy, just his name in 1/4" and "1st" in a 3/4" and the year in roman numerals. I'm drilling tiny holes in the cork to push beading wire into either side as a hanger feature. I'm hoping it's received well as I'm pretty much broke now as a new dad! Quote
Contributing Member 24VOLTS Posted November 30, 2015 Contributing Member Report Posted November 30, 2015 great idea!!! Quote
