corkscrew Report post Posted October 5, 2018 Birthday present for one my sons. Shot shell beg with loops for a belt, should hold 75+ 12 gauge shells.

battlemunky Report post Posted October 6, 2018 This is going to sound completely wrong, but I love your wood. The bark is colored and textured really nicely and the squirrel is well done too.

Rockoboy Report post Posted October 6, 2018 I like the different textures above and below the tree branch. Just a couple questions ... what is the weight of 75+ 12G shotgun shells? How will this case stand up to carrying that sort of weight, or does the case become a storage box (not a carry-case) when it's full?
Elom Report post Posted October 6, 2018 Very beautiful work you have done, that carving and coloring are just gorgeous. Which thickness of the leather have you used for this project?

Brian, I shoot sporting clays, skeet and trap and I use a small shell box holder for one box of loaded shells and just use the larger pouch like this for empties. I wouldn’t want to carry 75 loaded shells in the pouch - it would tilt me over to one side! LOL! Gary
chrisash Report post Posted October 6, 2018 Normally each cartridge holds a 28 gram of lead (1 once)
corkscrew Report post Posted October 6, 2018 Thanks everyone for the compliments. The leather is approximately 7-8 oz. He probably won’t carry 75 all at once, more like 50. Just put 75 as an estimate of size. 3 rivets on each belt loop, but I may need to beef it up. Will see after he uses it.
DJole Report post Posted October 6, 2018 That's a nice looking squirrel and branch. Good modeling and excellent coloring! The texturing on the backgrounds is a nice touch, too. And I suppose it even works for its intended purpose, so it's all a win!
bdpeters Report post Posted October 6, 2018 Just like others have mentioned the textures you have created are superb. Great job and I am sure your son will enjoy it.
