Contributing Member JLSleather Posted January 4, 2021 Contributing Member Report Posted January 4, 2021 Not a hugely custom ordeal going on here, but I thought some ya might wanna see this very cool old buckle set. Made replacement belt to suit the buckle set. They said just "pitch" the old leather, but turns out I'm not too good at "pitching" what was a gift from husband to wife "back when"... they'll need to throw it out themselves if they don't want to keep it This is the "hers" version - "his" got shipped out due to we needed the space. Maybe they'll send us a pic of the two matching belts once they have the second one. Still need to hit the edges and apply some finish ... Quote
Members JayEhl Posted January 4, 2021 Members Report Posted January 4, 2021 really nice stitch work. Was that done by hand? Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted January 4, 2021 Author Contributing Member Report Posted January 4, 2021 Nope - machine stitch with an LR point needle, gives that [goofy] angled stitch look. I don't care for it much, but... she thought it was a bit more "girly" than the straight stitch the husband got (his thread was a size heavier, too, but then the belt was wider). Quote
Members billybopp Posted January 5, 2021 Members Report Posted January 5, 2021 New leather or old, it would've been criminal to let that amazing hardware go to waste!! It's great that you could breathe new life into it! - Bill Quote

The original wasn't lined or stitched, but she did allow that Quote
Members Hairic Posted January 13, 2021 Members Report Posted January 13, 2021 That hardware is super cool glad you could bring it new life again! Thanks for sharing. Quote
