I made some yesterday to try this method out. Worked well for me. Rolling on a slightly rough surface gave me the best result. I did try my marble slab first... was a more effort and not so great results. That prompted me to go into the shed and grab an extra garden paver stone - that did the trick.

Thanks again to the OP for sharing.

Wow this is amazing!!! I do have a question, I notice you used a cinder block to roll the lace on, can you use any hard surface or is a slightly rough surface nessacary?

Any hard smooth surface is ok, for down part and upper part, just need to be heavy, i had this wood piece and it worked well but actually if you use heavy marble piece for rolling it is the best, it will be faster,.

Nice, the key is heaviness i think, if you can find heavy marble piece it would work well too. happy that you tried and it worked.

After busting my buns half a day to figure a way to cut lace, I finally came up with a homemade solution, but yours is simpler and better.  I'll have to try the "Twin Nail Method" for cutting lace and see if it works well for thinner or softer leather.  Thanks.  (Of course I'll try the tip for making round lace, too.)
