Squilchuck Report post Posted August 26, 2021 (edited) A client has a saddle with a Cheyenne roll that is broken on the right third of length. It looks good until you pick up the saddle w the roll. Seat leather, or at least the padded seat cover, is intact. Its broken, separated, at the fold. Other than rebuilding the roll is there a quick fix? I thought putting a bead of Liquid Nails into the broken fold might stabilize it at something less than full strength. Got any better ideas, or think the glue wont work? -John Edited August 26, 2021 by Squilchuck
oltoot Report post Posted August 26, 2021 hard to visualize. If there were a filler in there (attached to the tree) and a join in that is separated, at any rate, glue just sounds like a 'hail Mary'.

Goldshot Ron Report post Posted August 26, 2021 It sounds like to me that the saddle was made using cardboard as a filler and not leather. I have worked on saddles that had the same problem, but the owner was willing to pay to have the padded seat replaced, and at the same time I repaired the problem. I agree with Ole Toot, glue won't do much.
Cattledude Report post Posted August 28, 2021 If you can't fix it with baling wire or duct tape, you have an electrical problem...

fredk Report post Posted August 29, 2021 and don't forget cable ties and chewing gum, and raw eggs Stopped a leaky radiator in friend's vintage car during a rally by putting a raw egg into it. When the egg cooked it blocked up the hole. Only a temp fix though, and it eventually stinks 48 minutes ago, YinTx said: I thought that is how you fixed electrical problems... naa, a nail or a bit of aluminum foil and some paper masking tape
