Made this for my Mom. She reads more than a book a week on her Kindle Paperwhite. It is 4/5 oz double shoulder from Tandy.

I made this a few weeks ago and just got around to posting pics. I made it for myself so I didn't scrutinize everything and there are a few less than perfect things. I modeled it after Don Gonzalez's he makes in his video. I think I'd like a one part cover more but to be fair, I didn't follow his design to the letter and used 5/6 oz for the cover and spine and 3/4 oz for the liners and book holder/business card holder. I used a craftaid for the basketweave layout and then cut it in by hand and beveled with a checked beveler and did a border with some Craftool pro border tool (can supply the # if anyone is interested. I screwed up two of the 4 corners though :/ Please comm…

Made my first bill for a ball cap. I ended up making several designs while I was at it. More to come later. I also made a "special" Bible cover for my brother's birthday this coming Saturday. First time using acrylic paints. I think I'll use a "2 hair" brush next time to get really clean edges on the cross. The bookmark is kind of a bonus thing to match the cover. Christmas will be a matching belt with the same design as the bookmark.

Hi Everybody, Here is the latest Christmas present I just finished. It's a Journal, for my Mother -in-Law, to continue writting her memoirs. This was one of those projects, that seemed to take forever to complete. Of course only being able to work on it for a couple hours at a time slows things down also. It measures about 10 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 1 1/4". It's a two piece cover, using 6/7 oz, with brushed pigskin as a lining, & 3/4 oz for the inside flaps. All the colors are with spirit dyes. The back also has some antique applied. It's all finished with a NeatLac type of finish. It's all stitched using 7spi,,, & the edges are done using Bob Parks metho…

Made this for my Grandsons 13th Birthday. I made the pattern myself and I was surprised to see it come together as well as it did. It was a wee bit tight getting the book covers into the slots but once in it seemed to fit perfect. I was unhappy with the basket weave but no one else much notices it so I need to quit being so hard on myself. I was going to do a more detailed dye job but I decided to just keep it SIMPLE as simple usually ends up being better. Well, What do you think? I do like the feed back. Happy tooling, Rusty

I've been fighting this one for a while. But finished it up. I didn't have a Bible the same dimensions but my copy of "on food and cooking" was about the same size. Fit nice. Two inside pockets for the book covers to slip into and an exterior zipper pouch/open pocket on the back. Let me know what you think thanks!

Hi folks, I thought I'd share a picture of a portfolio for a scheduler that I just finished for a colleague. Definite flaws in it, I especially need to work those eyes a little more, but all in all, I thought it turned out ok. Jack

Here are a few small covers I have been making. Hope you like. And comments? Suggestions? Special thanks to CORTER Leather for the dye technique ideas.

I am currently in process of making a leather bound book for the first time. So far so good. I almost got the cover done, the text block stitchedis together and the headbands are done. Hope to have it finished by the middle of next week. I will have to add more pics including the text block but here is the cover.
