    This is exactly how I use the thing. The anvil/ prong clincher stays in the box now.

    Knut, is nylon better to use than the polyester - cotton blend I am now using? Just curious since you use the nylon.

    Here is the leather portion finished, or almost anyway of my Halloween costume. The mask needs some more wet forming and dyeing but it is all done.

    Aha! I thought I had seen them stocked somewhere. But honestly I thought maybe they were something you made. I was already scheming on cutting down some hulls and using a #14 copper rivet through the primer pocket for mine!

    I too have been keeping my eyes out for some brass spots that look similar to the pewter umbrella/parachute spots I already have. But I want something with more umm visual "umpfh". If I find them I will let you know and keep an eye on this to see what others have to say.

    Thanks for the pictures Johanna! I will try to take some pictures during my class too that I can share. I have seen Jim's feathers and am in awe of how realistic they are. I hope some LW people show up and say howdy!

    I signed up for a feather making class at the Tempe Tandy. It is going to be on October 17th and there are still a few spots left available. Should be a lot of fun with some great people. You can call them at 480-966-4151 to sign up or stop by and get the tooling list everything else will be provided.

    Looks pretty good! I like the decorative 12ga. case heads. You don't have to have the $ for an oblong punches. If you have hole punches use them to make an oblong hole. Punch a hole the width of the slot you want and I use a chisel point exacto knife to cut between the holes and voila! Instant slot. Try it you will like the result I think and no punches to buy and maintain.

    WildRose I was taken aback by the overwhelming positive feedback from my mrs and the ladies on the build sites. It is so much cooler when it is 110 too!

    Thanks for all the awesome pictures everyone! Almost like I got to go...almost. Some great work there and great people. I hope to make it to the next one just to walk around and be in awe. Any chance there are pictures of the award winners work?

    My animal companions are old so depending on the time of day amble in if the sun is coming in the window and amble out to shift to the next room for the best sun bath spot. If I am a little too vigorous with the hammering then I get a disapproving stare.

    I must be thicker than clay mud because I can't visualize how this works exactly, does it cross on your back? That is what I am seeing in my minds eye of how it wears. Can you throw it on and shoot a picture of it worn. I think I want to make one of these.

    Just a couple of pictures; You wouldn't think wearing a kilt doing house framing is a good Idea but tweaking people a little makes me laugh and damn it sure is more comfortable. For me at least. The guy holding the ladder not so much. This is me and the mrs in 2007 at a function. happy times! So I like vegas...so sometimes I dance with the showgirls...what is wrong with that?

    I go to this locally owned sewing supplies store rather than a Bigbox retailer because the nice Mormon ladies are so helpful and sweet. But now I wonder if there is something else going on! Is there a sparkling Cider room at Sally's Sewing Supplies?

    The UK equivalent maybe Tesco or Wilkinson would have them. it might not look as dressy as you would want though. I used a cutoff piece from the machine shop. so it was scrap. (Hey look I am green!) I marked the center of it and drilled a hole then I tapped it to match the thread of my all thread rod. You could easily do this to yours also.In fact I could make this plate for you.

    Just can't ever tell what sort of trick fate will throw at me. Cudgles or candies. this past weekend was a drubbing.

    I made a maul also and I used a ~12mm thick steel disk for the top that I tapped and drilled for the head end. Perhaps you can have a local shop weld a regular hex nut on a washer and then counter drill the nylon to accept the nut. This could make it flush.

    Looks good, very nice work. I thought I was the only one that sometimes uses a sharpie to color and edge or touch up a edge! In the "how do I do that" section I think there is a edge finishing discussion/ tutorial by Hidepounder (Bobby) that is really helpful in getting those glossy awesome edges. Finishing edges topic
