  1. Looks good to me.Nice job
  2. Built this saddle in 2006 to go to the Elko show,Rode it a little this spring and roped some calves out of it .Fits a horse good.15 1/2" seat ,5 x 12" cantle,90 degree bars,5 x 3" high wood post horn, silver conchos,6" monal stirups,Skirt rigged.$3950
  3. Nice saddle Darc,as usual. You been Hid out are just Busy?
  4. They use to make 3" conways for stirup leathers but the had two posts.Try MacPherson in LA
  5. Buck,If you want use dextrine on the cover piece,it will get harder then.Sometimes i sew all the groundseat togather on the back side of the hand hole, won't ever move then. Steve Take a piece of 3 4 oz. strap and cover the cut out up to where your fork cover tucks under the gullet
  6. I will take the Blevins buckles,Send a l;ist of the other hard ware and an address where to send the money Steve Brewer
  7. I have been getting my linen from Oregon Leather Co.Like the what you were saying I sew a bigger piece on and trim it later with a No.3 forked edger.I do the same with a leather binder. Steve
  8. I still put a few rawhide binders on,You will need to wet it overnight and then let it temper back. When its getting a little body to it stretch it on .I take mine on the stitch line about 4' apart and sew with what ever thread you would use on a leather binding.I like 7 cord linen, but thats just me. Steve
  9. Josh,I have never had a foam inlay ordered.I have built some inlayed seats but they were quilted inlays like Ray Holes use to do.You well need to get your info from someone else. Steve
  10. Saddle came out looking good,Nice Clean work on a not to easy to cover tree. You might want to Stretch and twist your fenders some more to get a better look.Pulling them down will make everything lay better.Looks like your rope strap is a little high on the swell, might dally that off.Otherwise a great job. Steve
  11. Joel ,I like my rigging to hang below the skirts,My skirts usually hang about 4 1/2 " below the front bar pad.So add about 2 " drop to make up for the 5053 cut out and your at 6 1/2 ".If i use a ring and drill The holes myself I will be deeper than that.
  12. Nicw looking Braided items,You should sell a lot of it.
  13. Rodger,If I were you I would look into working some deal with a local saddlemaker. It would let you work on lot of different items, not just one saddle.Nice tro get a chance work on tack and saddles with a saddlemaker there to help you.I have nothing against Saddle schools, but its hard to get a hold of making one saddle. Steve
  14. This is for you Mark,Wild Rose with some stem work around it.
  15. Joel,I put on Silver conchos,Some have brands on them, some have there Intials.I like to attach them with brass pins, about 6 on a 3" concho. Steve
  16. I will probably open a can of worms with this,I don't drill any string holes.I hate opening the tree to moisture and dirt that can get there through the string holes.Years ago I noticed that trees were rotting out around the string holes and quit drilling. With bleeders and proper nailing in the gullet area the skirts will not move.It makes it a easy for people to replace there own strings when they are screwed down,no chance for bulk Under the skirt from a twisted string.Just my way of doing things. Steve
  17. Replacing the seat is a major repair,You are looking at a day and half labor. My guess would be 600 labor and a material cost of about 200.If I were to do that,I would charge time plus materials. On repairs like this it is hard to give a price until you get done. The rear cinch should be around 80.This is just a appox. figer, some might do it for less and some would charge . Steve
  18. Looks good
  19. Gold Pony,Is the gullet width what you ordered? Is the Rigging set at the position you ordered? The seat should be fixed but if you ordered this saddle with the gullet spread and the rigging placement as it is it will be you that need to get it changed at your expence.Just my opinion. Steve
  20. Andy Saddle looks good. Steve
  21. How much?
  22. I have some Gore stamps that make good impressions,Its hard to beat Barry kings for the price and quality
  23. Jam,Looks nice and clean to me.I would turn my cantle a little bit more to keep your binding from rubbing on me.Over all nice job
  24. Clay,Stretch your seat in and let dry, then mark your slots by using a awl from the bottom of your bars.Draw a line down to your bar and use the bottom slot as a guide. Then cut them out.
