  1. Did not offend me! You're just the first to comment on her ears! And she isn't that bad in the pic, you should see her ears "live", would probably scare you if you think they are bad in the pic!
  2. Hi Moe! I don't have any plans for the lasting stand. I'm gonna have to be a little creative and build one from memory + using pics of other homebuilt ones that I've found online.. I will probably use an old "work out/gym bench" as a base.. And I have a friend that knows how to weld.. When I was with Renae at "Renaes Custom Boots" in Nebraska, I used the excellent stand from Thornapple River Boots.. Unfortunately it would cost a fortune to ship one here, so I'm gonna have to build one myself. Rik
  3. Thank you, dirtclod and Jim! Jim, what is "Rounded / Rolled Traces", "spoke shave" and a "rounder"? English is not my native language.. Thanks! Rik
  4. Can anyone tell me what this is? Is it used in leartherwork? It came with a lot of other tools, and I don't have a clue.. Rik
  5. I'm NOT a carpenter so this was a real challenge for me! It's not finished yet, but on it's way.. Found the "how to" in one of Stohlmans saddle encyclopedias.. and the "cowboys" also come from one of Stohlmans books.. Next project will be a homebuilt lasting stand for boot making.. Rik
  6. Really wish I could buy the outsole stitcher.. But shipping to Norway would cost more than a fortune.. Have you tried the other boot making forums? Good luck! Rik
  7. Hi! An easy way to make pics smaller, "PhotoRazor" http://www.stormdanc...%20overview.htm It's free and EASY to use.. Rik
  8. Hi Rick! I'd say they shouldn't be soaked.. I might be wrong, but one point with the wooden pegs is that they will move, shrink and expand with the sole as it moves, gets wet, dries up etc.. So, use them as they are.. Maybe I'm wrong, hopefully someone will let us know.. Rik
  9. Paul, I would love to see more like this! Any chance to learn from more experienced makers is such a blessing! Thank you! Rik

  13. Did you see the first topic here on "shoes, boots, sandals and moccassins"? There is an "e-book" that you can download..
  14. Making boots is fun! But not easy to explain.. Maybe some pics of toe boxes will help? This is the way I was taught.. the toe boxes.. attaching to the boot.. on the boot adding several layers of celluloid cement (will harden the box) vamps with lining vamps with lining + tops
  15. Would love to try to help you out! Could you please be a little more specific on what you want to know? Is it the toe that's the problem? Do you want help with making a toe box? Lasting? Or are you thinkng about the whole boot? I don't think the thing with boiling water will work here.. Rik
