  1. From the album: Misc Leather Works

This is my rendition of the original Christmas Bell by Tom Hall. The body of the casa knot contains 18 parts by 16 bights with a 4 part 3 bight loop. My addition is a type 1 pineapple interweave with the appearance of a type 4 pineapple interweave. Nothing was done to achieve this appearance. The interwoven part is of a 7 part casa knot with 11 bights.

  8. Didn't do a thing to them. Emptied one can all the way out and let the beets set at the bottom and 3 cans is all I used @ .99 a can. I really don't care for beets, nor the smell of them. But it does dye really nice. 3 cans of beets Emptied 1 can all the way. The other 2 I just poured the juice into a container with the first one. That's all there is to it. B...
  9. Okay folks. Here's the results from using canned beets as a dye on horse hide. See the attached photos. From left to right; Still Wet to Dry. The coloration went straight through the hide. I think that the coloration ended up real nice for dying in beets. So the name Beet Red. LMAO!!! What do you all think? B...

  11. I would complain. As a matter of fact I'd have sent the damn thing back to him at no cost. I believe if you're gonna give somethin away like that, at least it should be in decent shape and not look like that, or come like that. That would make mindful of how his commercial stuff is. The freebies speak 10,000 words and more. But I do wish you good fortune with it Nod. B...

  20. You could try these folks. Amazing Lace They sell by the spool or by the meter in quite a few different colors and sizes. Only thing is they don't bevel the edges on their lace. I don't know if it stretched before they cut it either. I sell lace. But not in very large quantities. I have, right now only a few colors available. Black Whiskey Tan - 1 @ 75ft Saddle Tan Blue I prepare my lace in this fashion; Rough cut the lace @ 3/8in wide. Stretch the 3/8in wide lace for the whole length of 75ft. Bevel to what width needed. I split the lace as needed for consistency. My lace is however not as cheap in price as the above folks. But you're getting quality cut lace. I can not do volume cutting. You can find my eMall at this link; KHWW eMall ... If you need any help, just email me or PM me here on LW. B...
  21. I would so love to meet him some day. I would love just to have some email comms with him. But I don't even know if he still alive or what. All I have is that post above and his books. I'm only missing one of his books. But I can't find it anywhere for sale. I have no way of getting in touch with him to see if he has that one book for sale still or not. You are so blessed to have had some lessons with him. I envy you. LOL... Not really, just a wish to meet with him, or meet him over the internet or by phone. B...
  22. Hi all. I had a get together with a few colleagues about a month ago. A couple of years ago one of them showed me The Bell From Hell by Tom Hall. It was one of the most fantastic turks heads I had layed eyes on. What made it special to me is that it was done in some kind of raw hide. I am not too sure to this date what type of raw hide. But I know this much. I have seen this bell in person and handled it with my hands. For those that are familiar with Tom Halls books, you will not find this in ANY of his books. Christmas Bell From Hell - By Tom Hall. A very brilliant turks head by Tom Hall. Hope you all enjoy this as much as I did in person. I know that the photos do not do it justice at all, compared to seeing it in person. B...
  23. Hmmm. Now that would be interesting to try out. But the only prob is not drinkin the dye. LOL... B...
