That's fantastic. I'd say you nailed your first attempt at inlays!
  3. Yet another lefty checking in! I'd have to say my favorite process is hand-stitching. (As long as the seam isn't longer than 12"!)
  4. I'm with whinewhine on this one. Definitely use a finish. I've used Satin Shene, but put it on lightly because it'll take off the All-In-One if you scrub it in. Regarding conditioner, I've found that neatsfoot oil is the most compatible with the Eco-Flo products. Don't try Lexol -- it'll strip the finish. And the best piece of advice I can give.... Be sure to try any new combination on scrap first! -Alex
  5. Dang, yet another masterpiece. Hey, Paul, when are you going to show us something you screwed up? There's a running bet here that you're a robot... Not human at all. I'm beginning to believe it may be true... Great job! -Alex
  6. In a recent poll that Johanna conducted, 61% of the respondents stated they didn't have a web site. Lots of these folks may want one, but don't necessarily have the time or money to invest at the moment. The social networking sites like the ones you mention, Anne, are an interesting option for anyone who wants a web site that's free and easy to set up. It's usually as simple as registering a user name and then using pre-built modules (like photo galleries, guestbooks, etc.) to build your site. Best of all, no specialized computer programming knowledge is necessary. I recently set mine up on Windows Live Spaces at abnleather.com, and thought it turned out pretty good for only a few hours of work. Maybe there's something to this whole social networking thing, after all! Alex
  7. Really nice work there, Nathan. I like that hatchet sheath! Keep on posting your pics as you finish projects... We look forward to seeing them! Alex
  8. Hilarious! Can't wait to see who your next guest (read: victim) is!
  9. Nice work! I especially like the color -- that's a beautiful shade of brown. Great job, -Alex
  10. That's one of the finest pieces of leatherwork that's been posted here recently. Congrats! Wonderful work. Alex
  11. Nice job. It's great that you were able to salvage the majority of the original holster. No sense in putting quality leather in the landfill if it can be repurposed. Kudos! -Alex
  12. Thanks for taking the time to write up that demo, Kate. Block-dyeing is on my list of things to try soon! p.s. Thanks, too, for the link to Estes Village. Lots of nice stuff on that site!

Glad you found us, Mike. That's a beautiful cover... Congrats! Alex
  14. Tiziano Ferro definitely has a unique voice. (I picked up Mi Credo in my last iTunes mix.) It's interesting how many of the Italian stars cross over to the Spanish-language market, like Tizano, Eros Ramazzotti and Laura Pausini. I tend to lean Latin in my musical tastes, too. Lately I've been listening to pop/rock like Playa Limbo (Canciones de Hotel) and Sí Señor (La Nueva Estrella del Rock).
  15. Tom, you really need to post more of your work here, dude! That's a fantastic piece -- congrats! Best, -Alex
  16. That's some fine work there, Pauly. Love that lucky horseshoe wallet. Thanks for sharing your pics! Alex
  17. Damn, that's fine work. (Both knife and sheath.) Congrats.

Good to have you here, Sam. Whenever you have questions, please feel free to fire away! Best, -Alex
  19. Joe, Great to have you here! I took a look at your web site, and really like your work. Great colors, stamping, and use of hardware. Best of all, it seems you've clearly established your own unique style which is reflected in all of your wristbands. Looking forward to seeing more of your projects in the future! Best, -Alex
  20. I know absolutely zero about saddle construction, but I sure did enjoy looking at these pictures anyway! Thanks much for sharing, Ashley. Best, -Alex
  21. Thanks for the review! At your convenience, I'd love to see some pics to get an idea of the shades available...
  22. Fire, that notebook is spectacular. One question -- an issue I tend to have with my notebooks is having them stay closed. I usually employ some sort of strap or tie to keep the notebook folded when closed. How are you accomplishing that? I'm imagining that the liner makes it even more difficult to stay folded... -Alex
