Hi all ...my last project in this year. Spur straps -Xmass gift for my friend . Tooling was inspired by "old time" style HAPPY NEW YEAR to all Martin

One of my friend received a gift of an old saddle. It is the saddle from Visalia company. Is a in very poor condition, with a broken fork and cantle, very unprofessionally repaired. A friend received information that the saddle is more than 100 years old. BUT ..... I am very closely at this saddle and I discovered that the tree is FIBERGLASS covered. Does anyone have any information please when it began using fiberglass cover of tree? I think that it was later than 100 years ago Thanks Martin

It is difficult to advise. I think it is necessary to gain experience with various round knives. Personally, I prefer a knife from weaver with a short and wide handle. Although I have many other knives, the knife I use most often Martin
