  1. Hey all, For those of you living in or around Paris and London, this is a heads up. I figure some of you may not frequent this board enough so I'm give you all a heads up and hopefully enough time. Im downsizing and selling my leathercraft/saddlery books. I know that for those outside of the USA its not as easy to get some books as it is here so I'm paying it forward for this one time unless I can find more really good round trip tickets again. Some rules. > The books are in English. > Some books are new or newish but they will all be sold as USED. I bought them from my local bookstores and some of them have been used (by me) and many not. I tried to note if there are any issues. > i dont have my list ready. I'm working on gathering my books and what I'm willing to sell so dont ask for any titles before I'm ready to post. Keep your eyes peeled for the add. Most likely in Jan or Feb 2017. > I will be only bring what i can fit in a "carry-on" size soft side tow behind. It will be checked in since I will have my own carry-on for my personal items. There is also a 50 pound limit. Im not sure if all of my books will exceed the 50 pound limit, but just an fyi and I may not be able to bring all of the books. > Books brought with me will be first come first serve. Once the luggage is full, thats it. I will try to pack and arrange the books to get the most out of the space available. I maybe able to get some in my carry-on since I will be traveling lighter than normal, but no promises. Note there are a couple large size books? They have been folded and will be folded to bring with me if someone wants them. they will most likely be "carry-on" and folded. > Cash is king. I will accept Euros or BPS. It will be 1 USD = 1 Euro = 1 BPS. Prices in USD. > For those in the UK/London area. I will be staying near Kings X. Im not going to run around London with all of the books to meet all or any of you so you will be going to me near Kings X. I will be making day trips to Manchester, Brighton, Oxford and Edgware (RAF museum). If any of you are near those places I can meet you at the train stations in those cities/towns. The days and times are unknown at this time. I want to use the trains more in the UK and am taking this opportunity to do so. Once I land LHR I will be getting a SIM for my phone so I will have a local phone number and will be able to text or email or phone. I have plans to do and see things in London and the UK so my time to wait around will be limited. > For those of you in or around Paris. I will be in Paris for one long day only - sorry. I will be on the first Eurostar train from London and it arrives Paris ~ 0930. I would rather meet you at the train station first thing. I will be in Paris only. No day trips outside. I’m planning on a foodie tour with some shopping and seeing some sights I missed my first time and maybe go back to the Louve. At this time only a handful of things are planned. I will not be carrying these books around Paris. Worse case I will put them in luggage storage at the station. > Any of the left over books, if any, will be for sale to those in the USA and I will post them once I return. Caio and have a great holidays. if the mods feel this add isnt appropriate or it violates any policies, please accept my apologies and remove it. I will be posting the add in Jan/Feb 2017 anyway.
  2. 3 Ea. Chop Saw lasers guides 2 of them are the Irwin mfg. 1 is NEW and the other is Used. Both work. The used one had corroded batteries and the contacts were corroded, but it still works. 3. I'll assume you live in the USA. I get my snaps from Seattle Fabrics. They also have webbing and such too. I also got my webbing from Weaver and if i didnt have the color/size and just needed a few feet, i would head down to my local leather shop, Oregon Leather. If you have any other local leather/craft shops, id look there for webbing. also any outdoor stores. the local chain REI use to carry webbing and such. Don't buy much from them in terms of webbing anymore.

  6. Sold to Steadybrook many thanks
  7. I decide to quit doing my tack repair this year and sell some of the tack hardware and make more space for other junk. I have a mix of MAST and Weaver tack hardware if that means anything to you. I preferred the MAST products since I thought they made a better quality product and they were more expensive too. I will be putting the hardware up for sale in bits and see how it goes. If you have any questions, feel free to email me. MAST 3 Sided Halter Square (Picture #2 – ¾” Upper Right, 1” Upper Left) MATERIAL: STAINLESS STEEL PART #: 370-3/4 SIZE: 3/4” QUANITY: 40 PRICE: $ 30.00 + Shipping MATERIAL: STAINLESS STEEL PART #: 370-1 SIZE: 1” QUANITY: 40 PRICE: $ 30.00 + Shipping Note: individually wrapped WEAVER 3 Side Halter Square (Picture #2 – Lower Left) MATERIAL: Chrome over Brass (CB) PART #: 370 SIZE: 1” QUANITY: 10 PRICE: $ 7.50 + Shipping Shipping: $6.00 or $ 15.00 or more via USPS Priority Mail with tracking and signature required. Depending on how much or little you want and how it packs into the USPS Priority Mail boxes. NOTES USPS Money Order preferred. Tried to be as accurate with material/description/part # as possible. Will combine shipments when possible. If you want it shipped via other methods, let me know ASAP. I am not available 24/7/365 to ship these items or answer your questions so if you need them yesterday, it may not happen. Also, with mother nature giving much of the USA the freezer treatment shipments/delivery maybe delayed. Im not responsible for acts of GOD and will notify you by email ASAP with shipment and tracking information. I will not sell one or two off pieces - sorry. Too much trouble. I can feel for you since that's how I ended up with all of this. Thanks for looking.

    Cad Software

I have training in Autocad, Inventor, Sw and Pro-E. At the moment i like to use Inventor since ive used it at my previous job and i have access to it at my new job. you can use the sheet metal features so you can include bend radiuses and material thickness. I havent used that feature that much, but when the time comes, i may give it a try. Its overkill, but i like to experiment with such things and see how good it works out. I also like to use it to make my patterns. If needbe i will print them and glue/tape the pages togeather to make the one pattern and glue it to some scrap board. i will also use invnentor for my wood working projects. it nice to be albe to layout your work to miminize scrap.
  12. there are many ways to this solution. at one time, you could buy modeling clay and bake it to harden it. there is the plaster of paris approach. probably not the more durable. then there is a 2 part resin approach. also, there are as others have said too. if you search for plastic shops in your area, they could probably "cut" to size for you and if you have some sandpaper/files/rasps, you could work on the edges yourself. My local plastic shop will charge you for 2nd cut. first one is free and if you want a finished product they will do that for you too for a fee. also, Lowes/Home Depot will cut some wood for you too. usually the same setup. First one free and the second one 5 bucks or something like that.
  13. i get mine from Seattle fabrics. They also had some SS and black paint/coated snaps.
  14. How is cotton webbing different from "linen" webbing?
  15. BOLO for one lost box.......Happy New Year
  16. Sorry it took me so long. But they are gone. King X hopefully has received them.
  17. I can see if they will fit into 2 or more flat rate USPS Priority Mail boxes. PM me for your address. Aaron, sorry, but first come first serve. If kings X backs out, then you are up next. btw. i work compressed work week and am not available until wed.
  18. Happy New Year! I have the Leather Crafters & saddlers Journal from July/Aug 1995 to Nov/Dec 2012 for free. They still have the patterns and stuff i even have the 100 anniversary issue. Dont use them so im offering them for free but for local PDX only. can meet you half way too. If you live outside of PDX and if you want to pay for shipping them its on your dime. i believe its a xerox box full so its not light. i dont want to breakup the run either since it will be a pia to get rid of the rest. If no one wants them, they get recycled.
  19. nice holster. but i have to admit, that the CZ adds some class to it. the Glock not so.
  20. greetings and welcome. hope you like it here. hope to be in your neck of the woods same time next year. cheers!
  21. welcome. its never too late to start something new. hope you have some fun in the process and feel free to ask questions.
  22. your 2nd holster isnt bad imo. one thing you have to remember is that its a learning experience. every project you make, you will learn something. im not into the crease lines and stuff on my holsters, i like them plain-jane. but to each his own. i started out using cotton thread (flax?) for sewing but moved onto nylon thread. i used the flax? since i could dye it any color i wanted/needed at the time. but after a while, i decided to use nylon since it doesnt rot. i get the nylon in different size threads to use on different projects. afa the stitching goes, you may want to invest in the diamond/saddlers awl. imo, it looks the best when used correctly. sometimes you need to use a powertools like a drill, but thats the last thing i will use. if your blade is sharp you shoulnt have much problems with what youre doing/making. also, as mentioned the "How to sew leather" is a good book. but i would also recommned Stohlmans book on "how to make holsters" its a large format w/pattenrs and stuff. IT will cover just about all you will ever want to do w/holsters and then some. I used it as my guide to make my first holster and i still refer to it.
  23. welcome, CASS and leatherworking goes almost hand in hand. i know of some CASS people and ive made somethings for them. Once you start making your own leather proejcts, i think you will be making more for others more then yourself.
