  1. Thanks for the replies. I wasnt sure if I should feel slighted or not being asked to move it to the back. I used to put it on the back, then as my work got better, I wanted to proudly display my company name for all to see. katsass: I absolutely love your logo!
  2. So I'll admit it, my "maker mark" is quite a bit uh, bolder, than some others that post here and around the interwebz. I've been asked twice in as many days to leave my mark of the front. What does the leatherworker.net mindhive think about this? Anyone else even been asked? I'm not sure what I think, or how I feel, about these requests. Thanks Oh, an example would help no doubt. Here ya go.
  3. Looks nifty. If you plan to offer these for sale, may I suggest using a flat head fastener and a finishing washer in lieu of the hardware choice in the photos?
  4. Mine is starting to feel like it it binding in the middle of the stroke, and then after a few times the presser foot will "pop", and then all is fine for awhile. I often times complete the stitch stroke with the presser foot slightly lifted, wonder if that is the root of the problem?
  5. The double stack mags are tough due to the taper on the end. You can see in my single mag pancake how the stitch lines flare to the outside. Not a huge deal/ I did a Horizontal mag carrier for a Glock 30 ( 45acp double stack ) and had to scrap the first one and revise the template. I'll post pics when I get a chance. Thank you for the compliment as well. I've got a lot of good guidance from a few people on these forums.
  6. I do them real similar but do 4 stitches. Really overkill more than likely.
  7. I want to build or buy a holster press. I still dont think my molding is up to snuff. I do appreciate the compliment though.
  8. Just sharing. Feel free to ask a question, comment, critique, or talk about the weather. Click images to make bigger.
  9. I bought a couple of their water buffalo belt strips. They make beautiful belts.
  10. Per the grumpy old mans request: Nice lookin holster Denster.
  11. Thanks John! I went out and picked up a couple of Al Stohlman books today, and the BELT book was one of them. It has a section on tapered belts. Have a great holiday weekend!
  12. This is just a pet peeve of mine, and I barely feel qualified to even critique someone else to this extent. I'm not a fan of holsters that dont have the stitch groove on the entire perimeter of the leather. On your particular holster, it is barely noticeable on the front, but stand out big time on the back due to the large sweat shield. And like I said, it's just a pet peeve, and in purely aesthetics IMO.
  13. I dont think this sub-forum gets as much traffic as some of the others. My 5.11 belt has a thin layer of white plastic of unknown material. More than likely HDPE.
  14. So I tried my first tapered belt today, a 1.5" strap with 1" ends. All went well until I finished up and noticed that the buckle end was way longer then the tail end of the belt when buckled. I originally cut both ends to the same measurement and then added to the buckle end for the fold over. I've measured again now that it's together and can figure out what this one needs to be, just wondering if there are some "rule of thumb" measurements that already exist for these types of belts. In the meantime I will cut this one down to where I think it needs to be and try to find someone with a 30" waist to give it to lol. Thanks
  15. I ended up ordering a HO side from Springfield and having them cut the belly off. Saved me about 20 bucks on the overall price even though the per foot charge increased by 1.00 a foot.
  16. Paypal would be fine as long as the payment works out on my end after the conversion. I am unsure what shipping would be. Please PM me your info and I will check with USPS and see what they can do. Thanks
  17. Very nice. Great use for the ostric leg as well. Looks perfect there.
  18. Didnt want to start an new post for it, but heres a belt I finished up today as well. It's the water buffalo from waterhouse leather. the keeper is shark skin from springfield, the buckle is theirs as well. I do like the grain of the water buffalo. It's a touch on the stretchy side though, even with the stitching. Not near sturdy enough to carry a holstered firearm on, but makes a good dress belt.
  19. Well Mike we took your advice. Some EVOO and a couple days of sunshine. She may still color wash the flower though, she's not sure yet. Thanks!
  20. They look great! I'm really diggin that Otsrich leg accent!
