Rediculously Simple Question : Sharpening A Swivel Knife
electrathon replied to lydian8's topic in How Do I Do That?
I agree about the SK 3. It is likely the best you can find. If you do not have the money for it, the more economical quality choice is a Barry King knife. -
Medieval Flask

They have a number of resins, but for food safe the max clr is the one. In order for it to b food safe there are a lot of rules to follow, they are listed under the description on the eBay listing. Double mixing and continuous rotation till cured are just two that would be easy to not follow properly. -
The one time use answer is to get a piece of pipe or conduit and sharpen it with a grinder. Drive it through. It will not last long, but will make nice holes.

I rebuilt one once and just used a piece of chrome tanned upholstery leather. Worked good.

I'm Told That This Does Not Actually Exist..

Well no wonder, you are not supposed to use it on our wife, it is a convenient storage spot for your kid. Wives would definatly complain too much, just as you found out. -

The resin is 2 part epoxy. You mix it and pour it inside, rotate and turn to coat all places. Pour out the excess, keep turning till it cures. -
If you want to use spray glue 3M super 90 would be the only one I would use. Most will let go after a while, the 90 probably will last.

I spent a lot of time talking to the chemist associated with the max clr epoxy resin today. His answer is their product does meet the food safe definition for cold liquids if all of the rules are followed exactly. The mixing has to be done very well, then transferred to another cup and mixed again. It will take at least two coats, less than 3 hours apart. As it is curing you need to be constantly rotating the canteen to be sure of proper consistency. You have to wait for the product to fully cure (many, many days). So there are a lot of rules to follow and if you do it wrong it will not be food safe. But if you do it correct, you will be able to safely be able to use the product. This is an improvement from what I found a couple years ago when I was basically finding that most people were claiming food safe as long as you did not really want the answers tot he questions. -
If you lived closer to me I would sell you mine for half that, and it is in good shape.

I am curious about the sealer too. I researched this a little bit a while ago and the answers about "food safe" seemed to be don't ask too many questions. Also wanted to add, the flask is awsome. -
Why do you mix the saddle soap with water? Seems like it would make the bar soap less effective. All I do is dampen the leather, rub the bar of soap on the leather edge, then rub with denim. Works great.

Sorry I have no help for you but I have never seen these before. Nice looking little machines. I have a Bonis but it is rather old. These look like a modern version.

I made a form.

I do not think anyone has posted any. There is a hidden adult area. Email Johanna and she will open it so you can see it.

Depending on where and how much you stitch. The leather will stretch, the sewing will not.

It looks laser engraved to me.

Depending on the purse, yes. Not at all if you want tooling. Good choice if it is just a bag style.

Use lead printing type. Fast easy and perfectly straight. Relatively cheap to get a full set-up too. You can get a few sets and can print in almost any size or amount of text. You need to press it in, not pound on it or you will damage the type.

2015 Keep Making Stuff Monthly Challenge

By design just butt pressure. I was also looking at this and wondering about if someone would add a clasp of one sort or another to make it a more female design. -
Elephant Hide

Personally I hate the spider leg look from narrow lace and holes punched too far apart. 1/8 inch lace, 3/32 inch slits punched 1/8 inch from the edge works well. The double lace fills in the spaces even better. A lot of the time even if I am only using one color I will still use two laces. -

The pattern is in this book. Almost identical to double loop, but you use the two laces instead of just the one. -

Thanks guys. For the color I used brown Fiebings. I had a friend comment that he thought that elephant would be gray, not brown. I get a lot of positive comments on the two tone lace. I like it a lot better than basic double loop. Chan was the first person to teach it to me. I am grateful to him for all he has taught me. -
Basic wallet made from elephant I was happy to get from a forum member in Africa. Inside is pig with an interior pattern I like to use. Two tone Kangeroo laced. Aaron

Super 90 is far stronger and longer lasting than super 77. But it is also more stringy, less mist like. I never clean the tip. Pick the dried glue off the nozzle and spray a test spray onto the trash. The pieces will be sticky, that is what you want to happen, just pick them up carefully, and be careful what you are touching.
