  1. I am a holster maker and hand stitch or lace all my holsters but am hoping to get a machine sometime in the near future. I think you did a really good job on the case. I would like to make one sometime but I am quite busy with holsters at the present.
  2. That is really bright!! How big is it? What does it look like on the inside. Handle and latch both look good and the stitching is nice and even. Is it hand stitched or did you use a machine?
  3. That looks great. I think you did a great job on it.
  4. Thank you Going South. Wild Bill, thanks for the complements.
  5. They both turned out pretty good. The basket weave is really nice. Good impressions and well done.
  6. That is absolutely beautiful!!!! Love the red (cherry) color. You did a fine job Dan.
  7. Your client will be very happy with that I am sure. Really nice work.
  8. Thank you Chris for the kind words. Thank you Double Daddy, That extension was an easy fix when I didn't have the right gun.
  9. Thank you so much. That answers my question.
  10. I have a question along this same line. When the back of the wallet is larger than the interior how do you space the holes for lacing and have the same amount of holes in the inside as well as the outside? Or do you somehow go through some holes twice on the outside and once on the inside?
  11. I finished up a couple of holsters for a customer. The short one is for a Ruger SP101 with a 3" barrel and the long one is for a Ruger Single Six with a 9 1/2" barrel. I only had a Single Six with a 6 1/2" barrel available so I went out to my wood shop and made myself an extension with an old cleaning rod, piece of walnut and a bolt. Here are some pictures. Comments welcome.
  12. Thank you Chief. That is a good idea for the musicians wearing leather buckles. I never thought of that before. That should be a good selling point.
  13. Here are a couple of buckles I carved some time ago. All comments welcome
  14. Carving looks good to me. Fine job.
  15. If you have a belt or oscillating drum sander you can sand the edges with that and get great results. It makes them nice and smooth.
  16. Looks like a good one for a first. We all have to learn from out mistakes. I'm still learning and have made lots of holsters. I think you are better off using stitches instead of rivets. You could also learn to lace and do them with lace like I do. It is fun to lace and the holsters look good too.
  17. Very nice work. The brief case is a beauty.
