  1. Halitech, You are welcome to use any of my posts for your own use in making leather products. I will say, however, that the leather folder I posted is a bit to wide to fit in some of my shirt pockets. I am not sure that I could have made it any smaller and fit my note book in it.
  2. Congratulations on your new machine!!! Those folders look really nice. A machine has been non my wish list for quite a while and it looks like it will still be a while before I can purchase one. I'm happy for you.
  3. Nice job on that awl. Wood turning is fun too and I have several leather tools I want to make with my lathe as soon as I get the time.
  4. Tip, Thanks for the nice comments. The liner and inside pockets are from 2-3 ounce leather the back is 4-5 ounce. I dyed the inside with Fiebings mix of Saddle Tan and Light Brown Oil dye.
  5. That is a nice bag. You do beautiful work.
  6. That is very, very nice. Beautiful!!!
  7. Please post them when you do. I enjoy seeing what you are making.
  8. Thanks Chris. I certainly enjoyed doing it and now I am going to enjoy using it.
  9. Thanks for the nice words Chief. I am about to start on a wallet and I will learn the Mexican Basket Weave on it for sure.
  10. I have carried a memo book and business cards for years and finally got around to making something to carry them in. I did have a bit of trouble with making my lacing look good at the end/beginning. I usually do holsters and never have to meet the lace at the starting point. I'll have to practice on this if I do any more of these or any wallets. I dyed the leather a light brown and then antiqued it with a dark brown dye from Tandy that I bought years ago. I finished it with Tan Kote then laced it and gave it a second light coat of Tan Kote. of The lace is "RealleatheR" calf lace that I bought from Weaver, and I am impressed with it. The cost is especially impressive as it is about half the cost of kangaroo lace. Comments and critiques are welcome.
  11. Very nice work. I really like the stitching pattern of the lace. I must make myself take the time to learn to do that.
  12. Looks like a good design. Do you wear it on your belt so that the flap snaps up so when it is unsnapped it drops into your hand? or do you wear it the other way so you need to pick it out of the pouch after unsnapping? Just wondering.
  13. Heybro, I'm glad to hear that you have someone that has the expertise to do your work. I certainly would like to see some photos of the finished product. I hope it turns out even better than you expected.
  14. Very nice improvement on a great project!!!
  15. Looks like a nice bag. Good work. Grandma will be happy with it I'm sure.
  16. Very cool. That is a great idea, something that goes on my to do list.
