  4. 100% agree currently doing all of the above,, just got a Cobra 4-25 and cobra np4 skiver and getting a ton of parts from Bob K to rebuild a adler 30-1 A big thanks to both Bob and Steve for their patience and willingness to answer a ton of newbie Q's thanks db

  7. cobra np4 is $1200 bottom feed ,same machine as consew dcs-s3 ,,,,,,,,,,,,cobra np 10 $1900 top n bottom feed

I just got a cobra NP 4 and its the bomb,,, well made ,easy assembly, set up,,FOR LEATHER and now its my learning curve which will need adjustment Talk to Steve,,,tell him what you want and how you wanted it set up.Give samples or pics and they will get it right from the "get go" I also looked at the consew and figured a setup and tested machine is well worth a few $hundred$ more, money saved on the learning curve and test material,,

IMHO bump it up to the cb 2500 and make it work for you ,,,,,, heavy stitch,,,,,and close the ends by hand a couple hand stitches,,, BUT the,,,, Cobra 3 or cb 3500 could be the bomb,,,,,,, just a thought db,,, worth considering for??????????? the next project or one you might turn away,,,, , future investment.......... a little more but a lot of return options,,,,,,db

  12. Steve and Leather machine is my choice, with a lot of thought and studying and asking Q's. I went with a cobra 4-25 and a skiver from them should be here in a few days Bob at Toledo was also right there and would be another, with out a doubt both first class owners, IMHO db I have singer 211a166aa similar to the cobra 18 , but smaller bobin,which could do what you want, but wanted the little extra from a 441 clone type and a consew 227r as well as an older singer 145w302 beast

  17. Just a thought,, what are most table heights on sewing machines,? My machines are all at 34",to top of table, and on casters,and feel pretty comfortable for me, 6'1" ,,34 inseam legs, for ease of movement,,is this close to the norm??? singer 211 flatbed and a consew 227r set on top of full table no cutout also what height do most users, find best for a 441 clone???? for ease of use??? type of work???? measuring from the needle, or top of cylinder arm??? thanks David,,, just wondering....

  20. What type of machine did you sew on? flat, cylinder,, cylinder w/table, beautiful work and very creative thoughts,,,, care to share a little more of the details,, thread size any points which made you pause for a moment? David

Interested in needs here also,,, and posted in Braiding also,,,,, Looks like I'll be on my butt, foot up for the next couple months or more,,, ankle surgery,, old issue,, as well as getting old issue SO basic Q's for braiding needed,, want to get set up before I'm grounded,,,,will be limited for at least a month just getting around to gather tools, so looking to put a box of gear, ready and at hand or hooks length away... 1 or 2 good books reference's,, that cover ,trimming and covering items, and or whips, all the pinned post here,will be repeatedly viewed, any thought as to supplies,, for starters, size ,lengths, basic tools lacing, para cord, a couple of pieces of leather with holes for connecting two as in cases or seats, sides or panels something I can practice on and take apart many times to re braid and learn,,, only have a short window to gather the items and or order as in a week or so,,,,,if all the moons and star align,, insurance and doctors agree,,,, Thanks, and help me keep some sanity,,,,,really David
