Wow -- was she entitled much? I agree with the others you did the right thing "showing them the door" I wouldn't have crossed the street to do them this "favor" (the sneaky me would find someone they didn't know to go to their shop and find out how much they are selling the horses for.....especially the "rush job" you did - bet it is still sitting in the shop. Of course I can be a right little snoop when I want to be)

Sealant For Leather Mugs/bottles With Hot Liquids
Suze replied to Aghrivaine's topic in Historical Reenactment
you're welcome he sort of folds the bottle over on the top (I'm sure heat is involved) so that it isn't a cut edge -

Sealant For Leather Mugs/bottles With Hot Liquids

That is the big problem - the guys using the stuff will not tell what it is makes me wonder if it IS food safe? one of the guys I know takes old soda bottles and cuts and melts the edge and slides them in the mug he also makes open bottom ones to slide a can in (was my idea) so just a bit of the top of the can sticks out not the best method for hiding your coke can -- but better than having it just out there on the table in it's bare naket glory -

Suze replied to gdonovan's topic in Patterns and Templates
I had a nylon purse once (from Avon) that had belt loops on the back and d rings on the ends so that you could either wear it as a belt bag or carry it as a purse -
Buying A New Shelter For Fairs/festivals

yeah finding the "whatever you put in a leather mug to make it waterproof" is not easy although I had another friend make a leather mug sized to fit a soda/beer can no bottom - just a thick ring of leather to keep the can from falling out. (and so you can push the empty out of the mug) it mostly hides the can -

don't know about the whiskey bottle cozies but around her they are getting good money for cozies sized for water and soda bottles. sort of like a bracer with a bottom and a belt loop attachment - with a snap so you can get it off your belt if you want to. -

hi all I know a bunch of you went to Pennsic this year and my SCA mom was in charge of Artisan's Row there her tote bag with all her paper records dissapeared yes she has been bugging lost and found Thought that any help and well good wishes for her "baby to come home" would be welcome and much appreciated Thanks for your time ********************* Greetings All, My apologies for cross-posting, but I want to spread this information as far as possible. Please forward to any list or location you think might be relevant, particularly to other Kingdom lists and teen-based groups, and have people reply to me at <pennsicartisans@gmail.com>. On Friday night, Aug. 13th, a white tote bag with black web handles and a woodblock print was taken from the Ladies Restroom at the Bathhouse by the Barn at Cooper's Lake. The contents of the tote bag were all of the records for Artisans Row -- the Artisans Row notebook, the participants sheets, the populace reaction surveys, along with a spiral notebook with organization notes, and other personal possessions. (I can provide a more complete list, if desired.) If anyone has seen this tote bag, please notify me. There is a reward, and postage costs for shipping the tote bag and its contents to me will be covered. For anyone who participated on Artisans Row, either from the general populace or as part of an organized group, I would appreciate your help in recreating the data that was lost, particularly if you were offering up a suggestion for a topic for next year. Please e-mail me at <pennsicartisans@gmail.com> -- I am looking forward to hearing from you again! Buying A New Shelter For Fairs/festivals
Suze replied to wildrose's topic in Marketing and Advertising
http://www.creativeshelters.com/ we haven't ordered from them yet - but our SCA group is looking into buying something like this http://www.creativeshelters.com/Design-Tools/Cut-List-Slant.aspx but then we have several people to help with the set up and tear down..... -
lifting stuff to the rafters is easy Ray rope and pully learned that from a model Rail Roader - his whole set up was on plywood sheets that lifted to the celing. and had legs that folded up underneath when it was in the air. maybe you could make a cutting table that could do this or storage units.

Hi all --- our Baronial Arts and Sciences person needs some help I thought that this might be a good place to ask as you all seem to know just about everything. Our BArony is in the Greater Dayton area in Ohio so "local is better" (Note bolded parts of post below) and if you don't want to post it here just PM me. thanks all Greetings, I'm trying to reproduce a data base I lost to a computer failure a while back. I was hoping folks out there would help. Please, to prevent a clog up of the mailing list, would you be so kind as to direct your reply to me personally! I will make up a list and see if Lancelin can then post it under the A&S pages on the FG Web site. I'm after stuff like: Mundane Guilds Fabric Stores Armourers Glass suppliers for beads/stained glass Scribal sources Leather workers and suppliers Metal workers and suppliers Sundries for specialty costume supplies Fibre art suppliers Brewing suppliers Cooking ingredient places (Jungle Jim's is already taken!) Music places for period supplies if possible So basically finished goods as well as raw supplies to work with. I don't really want on-line places. They can be found in an internet search and I don't want to re-invent the wheel. There are a number of good on-line lists for places to go on-line. I want to help local businesses and see what can be found in person. I guess stuff as far out as Columbus or Cinci, and any SCA people in the Midrealm you might know of. Comments regarding your business with them would be very helpful too! Did you have trouble? Were they great with xxx? Only place you can find xxx? Etc. Thanks for your help! Cathryn Baronial MoA&S

That same thing happened to us at Dollhouse Shows too. There were a couple of dealers that Mom sold some of her crochet work to for them to resell. since they had to "mark it up some" (they paid Mom's prices not a discounted one) somehow those were "better" ????

I was thinking it belonged in the "Adult section" myself......grins and giggles
-
and here I was thinking that you were talking about those other "pests" in the workshop you know the ones.... You know it will look better if you dyed it a different color -- or MEOW.....(pad across worktable dying feet)
