Odin, how about spray contact adhesive and a stencil?

Yeah, that's the 'pretty poor' one I mentioned... I have used Tandys patterns before lol

Does anyone have a decent Shako pattern? Need one for a cosplay group who's going to be entering a competition at a con at the end of April, but most of the patterns I've found are pretty poor. They are good friends, and the cloth cap the girl's wearing at the moment is just not working for her

I drew the original design in photoshop, 2D only. I then used a mannequin, tape and paper to make a 3D pattern. I would love to learn how to design direct onto the computer and unwrap it as a pattern, but that is beyond me as it stands! I'm planning on making them for sale, so please do show them to HQ fans

Yeah, the 29k does that speed, I really need something I can work on with the motor.

Thanks everyone

I have the 29k13 as well, but I wasn't about to turn this down. I'm planning on using this for fabric and garment/upholstery leather for corsets and cosplay items. As of right now getting a different machine is not an option, and at least this one was used on upholstery leather

Ah, all good now

Hi all, just picked up a Consew 230 from a friend who used to work at a factory making leather couches, and took the machine when the factory closed. Having not used it since then, she decided to give it to me. I'm looking at making corsets with it, with leather outers, maybe other garments. It comes with 2 teflon feet and the original manual ( 1 A4 sheet, folded in half ) along with a couple of bobbins and a few other feet. One I think is a hemming foot, looks like it's never been out of the drawer I'm guessing the lever on the front is the reverse, and the dial above it is stitch length? Is there any way to slow the machine down without large outlay? I'd prefer not to spend too much as I really don't have it to spare Thanks all

Not really sure why it ended up placed in the naughty corner it's cosplay, not bedroom play?

One Of The Coolest Keyrings I've Ever Seen

Being in Australia means I would be charged 3 times the price of the keyring just for the postage, and for recycled bonded 'leather' at that :/ I'll make my own. Thanks for the pattern tboyce -

Glad I could help Bill

Thank you I made the pattern with my mannequin, some masking tape, and a lot of cut-up sheets of paper. I set the mannequin to my friends size as she already wanted to model it for me and just stuck pieces of paper on until it was in the shape I wanted, drew on the lines with a sharpie and cut it out. Managed to get it all to lay flat too, which was a surprise

Had a tropical cyclone headed this way last week so I was sat in front of the computer instead of in the workshop, and started to rough out an idea for a cosplay style leather top. After playing around a bit I came up with this - Wasn't quite there though, the back was wrong, so - Then it hit me, I could alternate the colours like in the Harley Quinn costume, I've a friend who cosplays her a lot, so - Today I finally got the pattern worked out and the leather cut and dyed. I riveted the entire lot together. I did consider sewing but on this occasion I liked the look of the rivets, and this is still the prototype End of the day, here she is - Harley!

Bob, that's an insane level of dedication! Thanks for all the effort. Have you worn out the card yet?
-
Knocked this up as an exercise, trying to work out the phone holder. Still not happy with that side but the card slots work great Wide ribbon pockets and slots, not too hard to make, everything works fine

LOL. Dehumidifiers work well, unless you're in S.E. Queensland. 98% humidity today. My garage isn't sealed well enough to waste the energy on dehumidifiers, so yeah, oily rag and hope to get a good protective patination are our best hope.
