  1. Here's a P Port cover from your pattern, slightly modified. Thanks for all the patterns (yep, got a file full of them) BF
  2. A friend of mine has just about destroyed the card sleeve I made him last summer so I thought maybe a little more effort but not really might fill the bill. 3 oz veg tan Kansas gator gel antique for color and just a little more effort than minimal and viola!
  3. I "borrowed" this pattern from JLS Leather's treasure trove of help a while back. Finished it up this weekend and hopefully it will make it to it's new owner in time for her birthday. 3oz (this was that black Friday Tandy stuff from 3 years ago) all the way through. The slick finish on the 3oz means you had better de-glaze the hell out of it. I like how it takes finish uneven, but that's me. All dye work is with Gel Antique Briar Brown and Saddle tan. Great stuff to work with (well, I like it). If you want it to look washed out just flood it with water and dab away. The new owner is a pink kind of girl so off to (hands over man card) Johann's. The Pink is a polyester fabric held in place with headliner glue. I was surprised but there was no bleed through. Paints are all Angelus, 5 to ? number of coats, and over brushed with glitter lights glitter. Looking back I should of rotated the compass 90deg and I will watch out for that next time. Yes, I know, it's upside down, the catch should be at the top of the side but the reality is I did it just to make people go "why did you put that there?" Saddle stitched with 1mm waxed thread, Purple (I like purple and I didn't have any pink), John James #2 needles..... this is the 2nd item I have sewn with JJ needles. They are AWESOME!
  4. I haven't taken the time yet so I will now. Yeah, I snagged em! All of EM! Some of them I think I got more than once (the haze got to me and clouded my eyeballers). Great stuff for my library of patterns but mostly they really help me when I draw my own patterns, which I prefer to do but it is nice to have a reference. I promise to not blatantly copy your patterns and pawn them off as my creations (at least as far as you know). Now where was the guy that wanted to buy some 1911 pancake patterns? Gracious B (and yes, that is about the extent of my Latin skills)
  5. https://www.menards.com/main/search.html?search=hdpe Not as expensive as you think
  6. My grandpappy told me to never trust a man who wears both a belt and suspenders, the man can't even trust his own pants (and no, I didn't get it from the movie, gpa was saying this back in the 60's)
  7. Very well done. I learned some new techniques. Thank you for the insight.
  8. I personally hate flip flops (always feels like my big toe is being singled out and excluded) but I have lots of victims to practice on in my neck of the woods!
  9. No problem at all sharing as I've done my fair share of borrowing. It was actually almost a afterthought. I bought this V10 glow in the dark paint a while back to use on my front sights and I just thought "I wonder what that would look like? Since I use the straps for this buddy to experiment it was a perfect opportunity. The level of glow is dependent on the thickness you put on, this was one light coat over the white and under the glitterlite paint. The glitterlite is Red, White Sugar and Blue (from Springfield leather but I am sure it can be had many more places). You can get it in a multitude of colors as well. It works best over a white base layer, which I was doing anyway. One of these days I am going to pick up some of the glow powder mix it up in some clear and try it out on other things. Here is where I got mine: http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Green-Glow-Dark-Paint/dp/B00BD63C8W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1423193908&sr=8-1&keywords=v10+glow+in+the+dark+paint
  10. Here's a Guitar strap I just finished for a friend of mine who fronts a 80's tribute band. He's my guinea pig for guitar straps. 8 oz lined with 3 oz and baseball stitched with alternating black and natural twisted poly thread. I had no idea how much thread baseball stitching sucks up! 2 pictures of it for you today. One in daylight showing the raised band name in black outlined in white with red, white and blue glitter paint down the name. 2nd pic is for when the lights go off and you need to "glow" your way to safety, or the nearest groupie. Whatever works for you.
  11. Awesome share for people like me who have trouble with stick figures. Thanks!
  12. Thanks Bob, up till now I have taken the easy way out. Groove and prick. This time I grooved the outside, used a stitch wheel and went for it. I felt my arm dropping from time to time and thought I was getting to close to the edge of the material so of course I overcompensated. Then I would recover and then it would happen again. I didn't really see the wobbles until I took the pics and by then I figured....WTH...... BTW......I do a awful lot of Picasso's myself
  13. Thanks to tboyce for the interior on this one, it was the perfect size for this slightly over sized wallet. Outside is all inspired by the Phoenix area. One side is the Arizona Phoeniz and the other size is Camelback. Hieroglyphs come from the many tales my cousin told me of his finds while venturing throughout the desert. The 3 symbols on the Phoenix side are his initials in glyph writing. I was real proud that I achieved exactly the look I was shooting for on the carving then I noticed the inside stitch line and would love to be able to blame it on what I was drinking at the time but since it wasn't alcohol based that excuse went out the window. Time to focus a little more on the line or go back to putting in a stitch groove on the inside line. The thread is synthetic blue sinew. If you haven't used sinew for your thread I suggest you try it. I split mine in half, waxed it and rolled it. Sews wonderful. I thought about lacing the edge or whip stitching it but then I would of hidden the edges and I like the look of a polished edge. Edge was left undyed on purpose as I was after a natural effect. Thanks again to tboyce for the interior. Brian
  14. I put the finishing touches on this little purse from tboyce's pattern. Saddle tan gel antique with pink embroidery thread waxed till stiff. Make sure you have a curved needle for this one. Now to box it up and send it to my perfect grandbabygirl. Thanks again tboyce for the pattern, more to come! Frenchy07
  15. Often times I forget to thank the pattern sharers for their generosity. I want to take a moment to let you all know how appreciative I am for your talents and willingness to share. Thanks again Brian
  16. You can "wander" by a counter top place and "assist" them with cleaning up and find a nice piece of granite to tool on usually for free. Headstone makers often have broken or mistakes laying around.
