    Woah. Just gorgeous.
  2. Cool pattern, curious how it will work out!
  3. Haha :D Rayskin is widely available since it's a by-product. Do look for a source with a proper policy.
  4. Thanks all very much!! The steel is O1 with stainless corby bolts and mosaic pin, the wood is stabilised (vacuum treated with resin) spalted beech.
  5. It feels like... really coarse sandpaper but polished, it's flexible but the 'beads' (lacking a better word) are hard like glass. Cutting it in a straight line is almost impossible! Not easy to work with but very rewarding
  6. Showing you a sheath I made from veg tan with a stingray inlay. The knife is also by me Hope you like it!!
  7. That is so cool! I like everything of it, the eyelets and the lacing are the best. Real nice tooling as well.
  8. That came out nice! Good learning from projects that give you a hard time
  9. Hi everyone, I made this case for a beautiful knife and fork set made by Dutch knifemaker Dan Adriolo. The leather is veg tan, the inlays ostrich. First time I tried inlays Hope you like it, comments are much appreciated! Frederiek
  10. I think the beveled one looks excellent. It may improve from neater beveling and brighter colours. This coloured one I like best of both since they are a nice impression of the original art. The 'waviness' actually adds to it in a way, take a close look at Boogie Woogie. The brown one I find a bit boring compared to the other one and it does not remind me of Mondriaan anymore (although on its own I think it's very nice), it's not as recognisable as the primary colours.
  11. Thanks very much for your compliments, on my knives as well. I may post some in the future when I have made proper sheaths for them. As for colouring... just give it a try. It is not much different from monochrome, who knows it's easier
  12. Quite an upgrade from a scrap! Nice tooling, I agree with Monica
  13. I am sure that thinner will also work very well, this is just what I had available
  14. Thank you all I used ~3,5-4 mm so that would be 9-10 oz. For the sides I used 2mm/5oz, thinned from a slightly thicker piece. You could use leather for the loop but I liked this elastic band I bought from a shoemaker supply store (general elastic band is not stiff enough).
