  1. That is going to be so good!! Your stitching is perfect
  2. Third make of a moleskine notebook cover. Comments on the tooling are more than welcome! Frederiek
  3. Hi everyone, This case was made as a gift, when I made a picture it had already seen a couple of months use! First time I made something like this, quite happy how it turned out. Sewing was not the most easy job by the way Hope you like it! Hope I don't bore you with all my projects at one Frederiek
  4. Hi everyone Posting all my recent projects at once, I had so little time lately! A friend turned this amazing 'bolt action' pen from brass, with a buffalo horn inlay. For a special event we made this set together. Hope you like it! But as always, I'm still learning so if you see some room for improvement, let me know Frederiek
  5. Hi folks! The title explains it all Hopefully some pics when Dirk is wearing it soon! Criticism is always welcome, though I hope you like it Frederiek
  6. Hi everyone! Recently I made this neck sheath for a forged Viking style knife. Not my own forging unfortunately, I only wish Made from ~4 mm veg tan. It's only a simple thing, but I'm quite satisfied with it. Hope you like it! Frederiek
  7. The sealing itself, you pour in molten resin? I've hotwaxed things before and I always ended up submerging the whole item because of all the blotches.
  8. What I like is that the 'back' is flatter, to me this seems like a much more likely production method than the filling and stamping. Very nice What about bees wax for sealing?
  9. Thank you all very much!! The second one is nearly finished. There is something positive about having to do things twice... I think the second one is nicer
  10. Thank you all for your kind words! JLS, comments like yours are most valuable for me to learn from. Only I don't really understand what you mean to say... (language issue from my side probably). I did indeed use antique finish, with block-out on the flowers. Is there too much left behind on the vines and such?
  11. Kind of a challenge this one. The buyer asked me for a folded model, bit western/bushcraft-ish, protecting the rather big guard and adding an unobtrusive firesteel loop. After many paper models that I didn't like and making two rather crappy ones, the simplest appeared to be the most elegant solution. I made a rather big mistake - it's right handed while it should be left, so a second one is coming up soon. Hope you like it anyways Frederiek
  12. A small handbag with carved flowers. What more can I say It's ~3,5 to 4 mm of veg tan. I know I have A LOT to learn, but I'm quite pleased with how it looks Hope you like it! Any constructive criticism is very welcome of course. Frederiek
  13. I like that a lot, beautiful model and great choice of leather! I think the veg tan will nicely colour with age so it looks even better. Something I would consider is handstitching the visible seams (in a heavier weight thread, in a better matching colour (I see that was mentioned already, tan would be nice)). Maybe I'm saying something really stupid, but is the D-ring connection with the rivets strong enough? What might also be nice is to make the front flap fold over, so that the top stitches are on the inside (does that make sense?).
  14. And a green one with a snake pattern Nothing sensational, but I hope you like it. Any criticism is welcome! Frederiek
  15. One with roses, 3+ cm wide A really broad one for a friend
