  1. Glad you got that figured out...I bet that was deflating at first!
  2. Very nice! I assume you used an old circular saw blade...what tools did you use to cut the blade to the correct shape?
  3. Ahh...makes sense. Thanks for the answers. Your work looks good!
  4. Could you use an old pick guard and just cover it with your leather work?
  5. That looks really good. I need to dust off my old strat and see what I can do for it. How do you attach it? Just with screws or is there some type of adhesive or something involved?
  6. I never think about giving up...there are no such things as failures, you have just figured out ways NOT to do something:) just don't repeat it...
  7. Is there a web address or something to check it out?
  8. Nice job! Its all about being unique...and the smile says it all!
  9. That looks great vaalpens! Glad I (among others) could help. I like the idea of the wax paper and the way you lined everything up. I usually don't worry too much about it because I sand everything flush with my oscillating spindle sander...just get it fairly close so the stitch line looks uniform after sanding. But...if you don't have access to a spindle sander or belt sander, your way should work like a charm. Anywho, great job!
  10. Thanks everyone. The reason for no talk is that I can't stand the sound of my own voice on audio recordings:) I decided sometime ago that I was going to start recording video clips in the shop just to show the amount of work that goes into what we all do. Hopefully they will be of some benefit to someone. Thanks for the comment.
  11. Thanks Dwight. That's kind of what I was wondering as well...Trading comfort for quick and easy. Really like the looks!
  12. Nice job Paul! I'm in that boat of looking for a machine myself. Looks great.
  13. Here are a couple of pics of a belt case I made recently. Also a link to about a 20 min YouTube video I put together while making it.
  14. Personally I use size 2. They are just over 2 inches long. I'm not sure about the thread you plan to use, but I've been using that size with pretty large Tejas waxed thread. I have to prepare the ends, but I usually get the thread started fairly easily. Not as easily as a larger eye needle, but still not a problem.
  15. I've always just used Weldwood because I come from a woodworking background. Works well and never had a reason to switch.
  16. Very nice. I just picked up an order for a sketchbook cover. Hope it turns out half as nice as yours.
  17. Glad to help...You just gave me an idea. Thinking now about incorporating my Desert Storm Medal into a holster for myself...hmmm.
