Bag Wolf.
leatherwytch replied to Samar's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Very well done, just love the wolf. -
This means if she is using roadkill she has to be perched by the side of the road like the grim reaper. It says her custom coats start at $1000. So how many roadkill beavers does she need for a coat....LOTS. I have seen even roadkill deer and although there is more to salvage there you have to skin them right now, get that skin salted and tanned. With fur it still should be kept cold somehow until that tanning process is done. I have seen muskrats that have been dead not even a day and this is not noted to be a excessively warm climate. And it if you were caught by the RCMP/fish and wildlife you could guarantee a huge fine. As this woman is in the US they have different rules in different states. I personally go to yard sales and buy old fur coats to remake into other things. The reason is that poor animal(s) lost their lives for it so I won't let it go to the garbage.

Herman Oak Issues From Anyone Else?
leatherwytch replied to Modad2010's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
I have gotten HO from Tandy, advantage is I pick my own out. I just love the stuff, it cuts like butter. I think one of two things on the hide you got was maybe it wasn't HO or you got a bad lot. -
Here's My Shop, Let's See Your Shop!
leatherwytch replied to texasfireleather's topic in Member Gallery
I was concerned you may not be a real leatherworker...LOL. I had people walk into my workroom and say "How do you find anything?" The thing is no matter what hurricane or tornado comes through, as long as it is us we know where our stuff is. I haven't got mine set up in this new place yet, but soon. I plan to use a lot of those Command TM strip to hang my shears etc.- 29 replies

That's not a shop, it is all neat and tidy. It is not a fire hazard, this is an imaginary shop.- 29 replies

Of course, it wouldn't be a challenge if it didn't. -

Very adorable and time consuming with a terrific result.

Welcome to the website Dietmar, I was a few years younger than you when I started in leather working. You will find lots of great information here and it is nice to see that another generation will carry on this fine art form and craftsmanship.
