I agree with J Hayes regarding Zinc cast with plate.....there is that chance of peeling. Only you can decide and the "cost" factor may help with that choice.

I've always known that Solid Brass as the popular choice when working with leather....especially high quality work where rust in not acceptable. Some customers prefer Stainless Steel because it will resist any chemical reaction to the acids in the leather....where sometime Brass will show a patina at the point of contact with leather. After looking at your web site, I could see that the your accessories will be or should be made from a zinc cast....which is perfectly fine for any leather use. Hope this helps. Regards, Tim

Hi Horseplay, We do our best to use the same hardness level for both steel base and brass base spots. This allows our customers to use brass base spots for high end work and steel base for low budget items....on the same machine and die set. The same can be said for our Stainless Steel as well.
