  1. Okay, mission accomplished!!! Time to get me a drumstix case!!! Wore down a set of Vic stix last night. Officially a drummer again ha ha but pretty rusty;-) 2 more weeks and I apply for Dream Theatre he he Tom
  2. Well done Spider!! I like the raw look to it!! Thought I'd make my own drum stix case someday but gotta pick up playing first, lol. Vic Firth was allways my first choice. Tom
  3. Yes a shield!! It is so beautiful to see it "live" in the hands of the rightful owner. Just look at it: http://blog.mtn-m.co.uk/__oneclick_uploads...bert-shield.jpg Slainte mhath Troy!!! Tom
  4. Hello and welcome Andy!!! Good to see another neighbour from UK! This is one of the friendliest boards available so I'm sure you'll like it here. The wealth of information is impressive. We love pics too. Tom
  5. Can I put the tracingfilm over it and still get a good clear image to draw from?? Oh, pic resizing would be a neat feature in it for that scenario. Tom
  6. IF the machine can go through thicker leather it'd look very nice to have a sewing channel following the contours of the patch and use a matching thread color to sew it on the jacket with. Just an idea. Tom
  7. That is a sweet bag. I agree with Roger about the sewing time, looks like you got most edges burnished and nice too. Good one, your bro owes you a beer!! Tom
  8. Kinda hard to explain how we say it. Pronounciation of a is different for us. can't find any similar word to explain with either. Sorry! Tom
  9. Thank you CarvedOn!! Good thinking but the vision I had was from when you see this types of lions painted on old buildings, history books, medallions or wherever they appear, they seem to allways be in just gold. Thank you Jana! I agree about the braiding. Most times is is worth the effort. I do like the tripleloop very much as applique braiding. Jana is a very typical Finnish name (for someone living in Sweden anyways). Tom
  10. Very nice wallets!! I like the way you got a cool border on the second one with a stamp. A timesaver and looks good against the lacing holes. I have to pass on criticism, floral or basket stamping is not in my experience so far but I notice that the basketstamping seem to be straight and inline, I know it can be tricky (ok, I've been cheating a little with the tri-weave stamp). Tom
  11. Thanks all!!! The borders are hard the first fifteen minutes but then I get into it and mind is disconnected from body and I have a spiritual moment, lol Heraldry is very nice. I think this is my first venture into it. Tom
  12. yeah, miss him too. Sent him a pm some time ago but haven't heard anything yet. Gunna try send him a message through facebook instead. Tom
  13. A really cool and unique wallet!! Excellent job on the painting!! I would like such a niece piece to last for many many years and considering that I'd choosen to use a sewing channel to save the stitching from fraying and to me it also looks a bit better that way. A stunning piece that will raise some eyebrowes!! Tom
  14. Good looking keyfobs!! I like the style of the carvings. Tom
  15. Thanks rdb!!! Yeah I hope they will like their new belts. Thanks alot Luke!! Very glad to hear such nice things!!! Tom
  16. Finally finished this Finnish lion buckle and belt combo. It is the first out of four that I will make. I've used ROC dyes gold and it appear all to silvery in the pics. It's a bit more goldish in reality. Braid is mexican roundbraid. Criticism is always welcome! Tom
  17. David!!!! Hope you have a fine day and celebration!!! Tom
  18. Buckles look better with spiked bracers IMO and for non spiked I prefer lacing up. I can easily tie my laced bracers on my own arm without help using the rawbands knot wich doesn't open once you tightened it. I'm allergic to nickel so buckles doesn't work for me. Cool bracer!! Tom

Hello and welcome to the board!! Picking our brains will sure guide you to better leathercrafting. The gathered knowledge here is tremendeous. Once upon I time I needed a bracer for myself and I'm still hooked. We love pics here so post your work along the way. You will get some fine critism that will help you on your way to make your leathercraftin look better and better. Tom
  20. Thanks Spider!! Sorry I missed your reply until now! I use Fiebings pro oil dye. I really like to work with it, it gives a good shining black when you buff but gotta say the leather plays a big role too. The leather I used here is a lot better than what I normally get. Tom
  21. It is perfect!! Welcome to the board and greetings from the skullcrew!! Tom
