  1. Thanks alot Brothers, only thing brutal here is my music interest Tom
  2. Figured you cut them, don't buy the cheap slot punches IF you're gonna buy. I bought one for about 300 sek and it failed and collapsed on the 6th slot. I dont know what kind of leather that one was supposed to cut through but it sure wasn't 3,5 mm veg.tan anyways. We need talking more, get back at you via Facebook when I'm home from Karlstad again. Tom
  3. This a pair or bracers made for the owner of Undertaker Music Management. The casket style one is made from their current logo and the other one I tokk partially from a tattoodesign but replaced the crossbones with a pair of showles that i drew up. White is covacolor diluted and applied in washes. Silver dye is as usual from Danish company ROC. Everything is then antiqued with Tandys eco-flo black antiquing. I dont really like the way the antiquing works on top of the white cova wich was sealed with leathersheen from Fiebings first. Critiques welcome as allways Tom
  4. Very nice work Henke!!! Did you cut the the slots for adjustment strap or use one of the horribly expensive punches? Tom
  5. I have never got a mess from using packing tape. For next project perhaps try another brand. For current project I'd go with some nice fabric or thin leather like goat or pig glued to the inside. Looks alot neater and saves some time. Tom

  7. In the neighbourhood for a few seconds ;-)

Tom
  9. Very sweet work, nice swiveling touch that adds lots of elegance to it. Tom
  10. That is an awesome cigar case :-) Nice work and good job on the florals! Tom
  11. I like Russ's idea about matting. Just posting a design with special matting, not a skull but doesn't matter. Principle is the same. Tom
  12. Cool seat with nice carving and lovely colors!! No sewing/braiding saves alot of time and makes construction i bit easier to I think. Good idea to cover the edges, something I had to neglect when I made a seat for a dragracingbike with nutty seatpan. Tom
  13. Thank you vey much Roo and madMax!!! Tom
  14. Thanks Crys! I agree black/ red is fav and also alot easier to work with. Maybe you noticed that letters in black/red is not carved. I just traced the liones with the stylus. Tom
  15. Stropping the blade with the same tecnique as for swivelkives will add more edge to youur exactoblade making it even easier to cut. Tom
  16. Thanks David and Andy! Edges was very tricky before I threw out the beveler, with sanding it just a very smooth ride to burnish the edges. Tom
  17. Hey all, summer semester is over. I only worked 80 hrs out of my scheduled three weeks ,-) This is my latest two bracers and I am also tossing a couple of pics of another type of skin art, tattoo. Recently I dumped the edge beveling tool and just gone over to sand the edges and then burnish with Tandys bonefolder. Sanding is boring and dusty but the result is sooooo much nicer. very happy with my edges now and no mnore stropping that tandy beveler that works ok on hard leather and not so well on softer bellystuff. The silver bracer was very well received by the ladies when posted to facebook. many times I have been asked about the metallic paints I use. They're from Danish brand ROC dyes. It doesnt cover well and there is a problem with it creating small and very visible airbubbles/blistering effect on top of surface. It is a pain to work with silver when you have a design like this with many edges and crevages to paint into. If the paint bleeds into the swivelcuts it looks bad so very delicate painting. It took 5 hrs to complete the paint :-0 The black and red was a gift for a friend/flirt. Her X bashed her over the years and she finally stood up and put him to prison on an domestic violence charge. The red eagle is a symbol for freedom and her initials on there. Thanks for viewing!! Tom
  18. You can also mix the acylic white with water. That is how I do white but you have to paint many layers to make it cover. The advantage here is that the acrylic paint will penetrate the leather and not just sit on top. Looks alot better that way with almost intact leather structure. I can't know for sure but it should be more resistable against wear and weather and I always use a sealer on acylic paint. Tom
  19. Great looking album, the kinda marbled effect is very nice. Thx for explaining the method :-) Tom
  20. Very nice design and carving on those bracers!! Glad to see there are some great viking bracers in the makings here in Sweden. I seldom get requests for viking ornaments but if I do I might send it in your direction :-) Tom
  21. That's a skull bag, really sweet and cool....Spiderstyle!!! Nice job Bro!!! Tom
  22. That is an amazing piece of work, perhaps there is a clockwork mechanism in fitting size. The flower is just begging for it :-) Excellent carving!!
  23. A really nice and clean seat!!! You can get orange like this with with the red/yellow mix but it takes some tampering with mixes and diluting it down with alcohol. In the end you have to apply many layers and it streaks easily ( in my experience anyways) so I think using cova might be a good idea for it. Nice work, edges looks so smooth!! Tom
