  1. The # system has its draw backs, take for example hole punches: It is strange why yoy put a # on a punch instead of the actual measurement, preferably in the metric system so you don´t have to stress your brain with fractions of inches ? America, convert to metric ( like the rest of the enlightened world!! hehehe / Knut
  2. A #2 (# 3,4 5) edger from one manufacturer often has a different size than a #2 ( #3,4,5) edger from another manufacturer, so you have to find one brand that suits your needs / Knut
  3. Today I traded my old snow blower for a car. Better to be inside a comfortable vehicle than walking behind a snow blower with the wind in the face! / Knut Winter in your part of Sweden, Tina, is just a word in the calender !

  7. I had -35 C this morning! -28 C last night ( Northern Sweden) Had the engine heater connected all night, and my trusty Nissan Pick up truck started this morning without hesitation. I´m waiting for spring too! / Knut
  8. Do you have to drill a hole before putting a screw in a Laporte tree? I know this is recommended on a Ralide tree but the Laporte tree seems to made of a quite different material. Can I widen the angle of the bars with a sand grinder without destoying the tree? / Knut
  9. Some more pics from my shop: The log cabin in snow, ( It was meant to be a guest house). 7" timber walls + 4" insulation, 12" insulation in the roof. Pine board floor, ceiling and walls, electric heating. A cosy winter den. The tooling bench, with a 4" headstone recessed into the table top. Under the headstone is a bench made of 4" lumber, glued and bolted together and with metal legs. The bench is recoil- and break free ! My Adler 205-374 with needle positioning device and a stand I made myself for this heavy piece of iron. Finally a Juki LU-63 with needle positioning device. / Knut

  11. Thank you, Terry. It is an old loghouse that I bought 15 years ago, disassembled, moved and rebuilt on my backyard. A couple of months ago I stumbled on a big lot of Gomph tools at a price I couldn´t resist so now I have more handtools than I actually need. As for cool weather, today we have more than we need, 25 celcius below, so if it would be possible I´d be glad to share some cold air and snow with you - for free! / Knut
  12. A couple of pics of my bench / Knut
  13. Really fine "junk" ! Did you make the powderhorn? Awesome! Als I really like the knife sheath with the triple row of brass tacks! Very nice! / Knut
  14. You can try this company in Sweden : http://www.tjaderlader.se/shop/ or How much do you need ? I could buy it for you and ship, (but there will be shipping costs for two separate shippings) / Knut
  15. I can send you a shipload for free and you´ll find out! All you have to do is pay the shipping! / Knut
  16. A pic from my frontyard. Will it ever be summer this year? / Knut
  17. The Seiko has a limitation in the choice of presser feet for leather so I would rather pick a Juki 441 clone. / Knut
  18. JW, Thank you for the explanation. Good to know that there is a practical reason for turning the leather rough out, never thought of that. / Knut
  19. In the latest copy of TLCSJ there is an article on slicking rough out saddle leather. It seems to be a lot of worked involved to slick the leather. This results in some questions about rough out saddles. To make a saddle with the flesh side out is to me like putting on my clothes inside out. In a dry climate it might work, but it must be like a spunge when it rains. Does it have a practical purpose over a grain side out saddle or is it just fashion? / Knut
  20. Thank´s Keith! I´ll give it a go first thing on monday morning. The saddle is a trophy roper saddle from the Abilene rodeo, owned by a Texas cowboy, now living in Sweden. (Swedish women can be tricky!) / Knut
  21. I like what you have written about yourself! Welcome to LW!

  22. I like your work! Hello from Sweden! / knut
  23. Thank´s Bruce. I suppose you put it on wet ?
  24. What width and length of the mule hide strap is suitable for making a horn wrap? Should I skive the edge/edges? / Knut
