  1. Very nice looking stuff. I really like the looks of that holster.
  2. Shooter, Sorta what i was thinking too. Let me know if you try it. Jeff
  3. My favorite is the brown basket weave 3 person. Nice rig.
  4. Nice color. I love Glocks. But the only thing that makes a Glock look good is a good looking holster.
  5. Pretty cool looking. Does the arrow mean "this end up"?
  6. Anyone have a gun mold for a Springfield Operator, 4inch with rails? I tried Duncans and Rings. No luck. Thanks, Jeff
  7. I am finishing up this mare's leg holster for my brother who lives in VA and I live in WA. So gettting the right fit was a challenge. I used my Marlin 1894 for the pattern and once I had the holster made i went to my local gun store where they tried the pistol out for me ( see picture). My brother is wrong handed so I had to make an enclosed holster. The saddle ring is on the wrong side for a leftie otherwise I would make one similar to the one from the show "Wanted, Dead or Alive". Notice the gun store guy is holding the retention strap in his right hand. I did not know where to place the snap. So that was one of the main reasons for trying the fit at the gun store. I had so many folks talking to me about the holster that I completely forgot to mark the snap location. One more trip to the gun store. Also, the gun is not pushed down tight in the holster in the picture. It does fit. I would be glad to share my pattern. Just cover the cost of postage. If you are interested, please send me an email. Thanks, Jeff
  8. Generally speaking, no. What weight or thickness of leather are you using? A grumpy old guy on here uses two layers of 4/5 oz leather glued and stitched rough side to rough side. Gives him a lined holster with the leather thickness he likes. Most cowboy style holsters I do are also lined but concealed carry holsters are usually not lined. I always use veg tanned leather for the lining. Depends again on what you are doing. For western style holsters John Bianchi videos recommends 1 weight thickness less than the outside for leather weight. Example 7/8 outside would be lined with 6/7 inside. I have used whatever for the thickness that i want. Example for concealed carry 6/7 or 7/8 outside lined with 3/4. Hope this helps.
  9. Shooter, The second belt is a fine looking rig. Good job.
  10. Sounds great. Tandy has it's place for sure. I am not a Tandy basher. But I love the HO leather.
  11. I will order one form Duncan's. If I can not get the mold here in a reasonable time, I'll borrow yours. Thanks for looking out for me. Jeff
  12. Shooter, That is a very nice offer that I will take. I'll send a PM. Jeff
  13. I called the guys at www.blueguns.com this morning to inquire about the Sig P250 SUB compact mold. Ring's asked me to email my request and if they received enough email request, they would make the blue gun. So I am asking others to email Ring's. Just go the the web site and click on the contact page. Thanks, Jeff
  14. Shooter, That is one of the best glock holsters I have seen. I think glocks are great pistols but are very ugly. That holster really compliments a good gun.
  15. A couple of these rigs are so nice Roy Rogers would wear them to the BBQ. Very impressive.
  16. I was thinking about the snap location. Looks like you could build more body outside of the stitch line and locate the snap there. If you build another, try an open toe (my personal preference). The open toe keeps the "simple" look. I think it would still look good. The bottom line is does your uncle like his "nuttin fancy" rig. I think he will. The rig has eye appeal. I don't know anything about snow seal. The only other thing I use that may interest you is Skidmore's Leather Cream. I like this product a lot. I have used this to bring back the color on belts and holsters. When I build belts, I still use an acrylic top coat.
  17. Looks like a fine rig to me. How does the holster feel on your belt? I'm thinking it may take a while before you stop getting rub off. Thinking the holster, an old T shirt and a good gangster movie may be in order. Good luck. Jeff
