  1. Nice work! Certainly something to be proud of. The double mag pouch really looks cool.
  2. Try cutting the leather straps on the inside where your belt goes through. Your straps are too wide at the belt. That should give you the relief you need. Email me at haysholsters@hotmail .com and I can send you a picture.
  3. I can appreciate your lessons learned. But I really think you nailed this one. Good Job.
  4. I have painted flames on holsters. Looks pretty cool. I use the water stains from tandy. make sure the base is dry. Then I make a stencil and air brush the other color. I air brushed the yellow first and then red and then black.
  5. I need a 3d Squirrel stamp for my grandson's belt. Thanks.
  6. I think you are doing good. I think you could bevel the belt slot edges. I use a piece of deer horn to slick up the inside of the belt loops after I bevel the edges. How do they wear? I think your design is good. I realized that the holsters should pivot (or bend) on the front slot and use the back slot to cinch the grip into your body. Your design looks like it does that. Again, nice job.
  7. The only thing you can do to make a glock look good is make a good looking holster for it. Nice job. (I am a glock fan)
  8. Good job. The more I look at your holster, the more I like the reinforcement piece.
  9. Schwebel- The pouch is pretty simple. It wraps around the belt. When you open the pouch, the quick strip almost pops into your hand. The holster is 7/8 and the pouch is 6/7. Sooper - I have been using the waterstain for at least a year. It works better than anything else. On this holster rig, I just used the drum dyed leather, oiled and then finished. I did use the Tandy pro edge paint. It works much better than the Febings edge. Actually I will not use Febings again. I either dye the edges with the water stain or I use the pr edge stuff. Colt - I bought a back of each color. I like all of the colors. But I sell mostly black, 2 tone mahogany and black or mahogany.
  10. I thought this LCR pancake holster turned out well. It is the factory dyed mahogany leather from RJF leather. I make a lot of the 2 tone holsters using the mahogany leather and then air brushing the edges with the Tandy Pro water stain black. But this LCR holster looked so good plain I just had to finish it this way.
  11. I really like the whole thing. I have just started working with my 2 oldest grand children. They are 7 and 5. They made their first belt last week. The are still at the point that i have to help hold the stamp to keep it from bouncing. But I am encouraged by this work. I hope my grand kids have the same eye.
  12. Geez. I've made many, many holsters. I don't think I have made one that looks as good as your first. Very nice.
