  1. Whatever your feelings towards the buscadero, that is one fine looking rig. Your workmanship is outstanding.
  2. Eliminate the belt slot at the grip. Instead use a belt tunnel on the back of the holster. It is like a backwards avenger style holster. So fold the leather over the trigger guard. Still keep the belt slot at the barrel. Hope this makes sense. You can shoot me an email at haysholsters@hotmail.com and I can see if I can find a picture of a holster like this.
  3. Looks awesome. You may want to check out a henna colored thread from Weaver. Gives an option that looks great with the Havana colored leather.
  4. Incredible looking work. First holster? Surely you are not new to leather work? Very good work.
  5. Looks very good. I really like the finish on horse hide.
  6. I think you did a great job. Looks like your solutions are just right. What a project!
  7. Another option for thumb breaks. I sew a reinforcement piece for my thumb breaks. I do not use the metal or kydex stiffeners. I am not sure if you can tell from the photos. The front piece has a hole that the snap is recessed into. The reinforcement is sewn onto the front piece. The snap set into the reinforcement piece. This is just personal preference. Not any better than the metal. May even take longer. But I like doing thumb breaks this way. Just thought I would let you know there is more than one way to skin this cat. Best regards.
  8. I can do mine left or right. I do like you and just flip the pattern over. Even avenger style. Shoot me an email at haysholsters@hotmail.com and I can try and answer your questions in more detail. I'm in Colorado Springs.
  9. I bought my punch from Texas Custom Dies. I was very picky in my dimensions. I ordered 1 and 9/16ths by 5/16ths. The first punch they sent me was not the right size. I did get the correct punch on my second try. They sent the original set up for punching with a clicker. I ordered just the punch and I welded a socket on the top end. The socket fits my shop press. Best luck.
  10. Looks way cool. I think your holsters really compliment the knives.
