  1. I was airbrushing dye on to some lifting straps the other day and took a video. Check it out, this is the first coat.
  2. I'm trying to source this type of buckle in 2" and 3", ideally stainless. Does anyone know where I would get these? The website for these belts is: https://innerstrengthproducts.ca/products/wahlanders-belts They have a video of them working, they seem pretty awesome and I want to make myself one.
  3. Thanks, I'll take a look. found some really nice stainless ones on ali-express. They're not pivotable but they're a solid, good looking buckle at a decent price. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/free-shipping-top-quality-long-time-using-metal-men-belt-buckle-stainless-steel-leather-craft-accessories/32691514883.html They have them in 1.25" and 1.5" I purchased a few in both sizes and while shipping was painfully slow the quality is good.
  4. My girlfriend and I are looking at re-doing the seat on her motorcycle and I'm looking for recommendations on foam, what type, where to buy etc. Especially if you've got any Canadian sources I'd greatly appreciate it.
  5. Very nice! What do you do for the edges? Both of the wallet itself and the thinner edges inside? Also, what type of leather is that?
  6. Thanks. I'm a fan of the chicago screws for holding buckles when I can since it allows for the buckle to be changed down the line if anyone ever wants too. Especially on belts.
  7. Stunning! Do you have a pattern you'd be willing to share? Or construction pics? I have a friend who's big into archery who has a birthday coming up. . .
  8. New dog collar for a client from black bridle. I may have stuck it on one of my cats to be funny. . . the cat failed to see the humour.
  9. Did you paint the lettering to get the green on the black? it looks great.
  10. I'm in Toronto but if you're willing to pay for shipping I could make it happen for sure. I even have black W&C bridle leather for it. . . shoot me a PM
  11. Unfortunately his selection isn't great for dress buckles, they're virtually all nickle plated and I'm specifically hoping for stainless or titanium. I can find both on amazon but I feel like there's got to be better pricing. Nickle plate I can get from china for $2 a buckle.
  12. Hey folks, I'm trying to find a source for some High Quality belt buckles. Ideally I'd love some that are reversible in stainless (as opposed to nickle plated copper). I'm looking mostly for stainless or titanium at better pricing than you find on amazon. Any ideas? 1.5" and 1.25". Thanks team.
  13. I'm selling my skiver. It's in great shape, I have no issues with it but honestly I picked it up and barely use the darn thing. My wife is harassing me to open up some space so away she goes. Asking $1200 CDN for it. I'm happy to ship (at your cost) but it won't be cheap. Pickup is in Bolton, ON which is just north of Toronto. Skiver comes with multiple presser feet, table, and servo motor.
  14. It didn't seem to be an issue for me when I wore it but definitely a good idea moving forward.
  15. Haha. Alternately you could try skiving the edge or grooving it. Neither worked with this sole. The other thing we did is because there's padding in between the layers we left the last 1/4" on the outside unpadded so the sole and leather pulled together. This definitely buys some space from the walking surface, in combination with the thread tension I'm confident thread wear won't be a concern for a few years.
  16. Well we got ours fron Tandy. With hand stitching I'd just pull really tight. . .
  17. No, but because it was machine stitched and the sole is quite soft the machine tension was enough to pull them well below the level of the walking surface.
  18. Thanks! For the holes it was easy. I had her stand on the flip flops, marked with a pen between the first two toes (for the top hole) then used the same pen to mark the apex of the medial and lateral longitudinal arches. Punched the holes. Then we just put the straps through the top hole, sewed them down, then pulled them tight through the other holes till they were as tight as she wanted, marked them and sewed them to that length. Then the padding and sole went on.
  19. First real attempt at wet molding anything and first attempt at a sheath/holder. Over all it turned out really well. Far from perfection and suggestions are welcome but it's for a friend and I think he'll be quite happy.
  20. My other half liked my flip flops and decided she needed to do some of her own. Here's some pics or you can see more detail here: http://vkleathers.com/2017/06/04/project-155-flip-flops-for-kelley/
  21. Yup. I don't really do patterns per se just work out dimensions etc. I just like this style so I thought I'd use it. moving forward I'll move to a 5 panel construction though for ease of sewing and optimal leather use. Thanks! It worked beautifully to stiffen the lining just enough to stop it from collapsing when the bag is open and empty. Definitely something I"ll use more going forward.
  22. Thanks folks. I thought the interior fabric brought a nice look, I did have to iron a fusible interfacing to it to make it stiff enough to not just collapse but that was easy and I'm pleased with the results.
  23. A lovely distressed brown leather I picked up, fully lined in a snazzy plaid.
