I found it item #220197802534

I've been so far out of touch with everybody it's rediculous. we're talkin' years. and unfortunately haven't ridden since me last chopper got stolen and never recovered.
-
when I looked at the first pic, I the the sides were just extra thick leather with curved stitching holes (through the edge to the inside. seen bags and cases done like that). then when I looked at the second and third pics I realized they either stitched the sides to a lining or did a secondary side (an inside side, if you will) and stitched it together like that. um.. any of that make any sense whatsoever? if I was to do one, I'd do a full lining and put a zipper across the top of the lining. that way you don't have to worry about the tops of the sides flopping out and losing something or anything getting wet as much.

dude! I remember david! haven't heard anything from him in years. an old riding buddy of mine, j.t. nesbitt, wrote for them back then before all the changes. oh yeah, snazzy seat too!

roo yeah, what spider said! any and all help appreciated. btw, beat any more hungry kids with a mallet lately? *L* spider used 4-5 oz leather. I kinda cheated though. I'd made a form from the packaging a halloween mask came in using a resin mixture and stretched it over that. did take a bit of work for the nose to stretch enough though.

exacto knife and templates works for me. I make me templates out of posterboard. if I need circles (even partial ones) I use either a compass to make the circle on the posterboard, cut it out carefully and lay it on top of the leather where I need it, or jsut find something real quick that has the same size circle I want to use. bottle cap, tube, or whatever.

1. I'd have to say that if I had to describe me style to someone it would be um... er... ah... mine? *L* 2. as far as what influenced me style, part of it was conscious decision, but mainly it's due to being self-taught.

First Sheath with my TIPPMAN...
Drac replied to SCOUTER's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
they're the same price through the company as they were through tandy with a business license if I remember correctly from when I got mine. -
made me first mask tonight. still need to add a tie cord to it, but I don't think it's too shabby for a first one.

jordan try http://oikos.com/esb/34/greenblock.html instead of strawbale. put 'em together like legos then pour concrete or whatever into 'em. great rating and green.

dagnabbit! now cut that out! you're making the rest of us feel and look bad! LOL -
instead of stamping, brand them instead. that's how I mark my pieces including suede.
-
maybe a good coat of a flexible sealer over it once the piece is finished. I'd think the texture would still show through without the sandpaper effect.
-
randy yeah, I've got their catalog and have seen their press. thought about getting it, but I gotta find or update me tax i.d. since it's texas. will probably jsut have me roomie make me one since he does metal work ( http://virginiron.com/ ).

great work as usual. following the directions in the "covering handles for crops" is perfect for getting a great flogger like what I make (sturdy, functional, and looks good), but your work is functional art and those ideas go out the window. you really should do a tutorial.
-
grunt that's the problem with this site, ya get too many ideas here! *L* still not sure if I'm comfortable with this being moved to braiding since I consider my way kind of cheating (it's simple and easy) and nowhere near on par with the rest of stuff in this section, especially since this is all I know how to do. tammy I'm VERY familiar with Souixsie starting from back in her punk days. she's a littled distanced, but a nice chic. Budgie's a nice guy too. you definitely need to post a pic up when you finish the mask! and it's better to have just friends say you give out too much info than other crafters you do events with side by side. although I have noticed they're more than happy to get the info too. they just don't want to share theirs. mike it's always good to post up early work here so that peeps can give you tips on how to improve something. and I would LOVE to see a tutorial done by victor. ya hear that victor? your turn! *L*
-
I still need to get one of those. it's not an issue on what I usually stitch, but now it's looking like it might be a good idea. at least the holster won't actually get used that much so this one will last. *L*
-
thanks warren! I think it came pretty well for being me first one.
-
leatheroo yay! congrats! now me questions is... um... why on the mallet? is it to beat the hungry kids for burning dinner? *LOL* glad I was able to help. now if ya really wanna have your head explode, go look at victor's stuffses and try figuring it out. makes mine look like preschool knots in the hair. *L* oh yeah, and let's see some pics! rawhide thanks and no prob. your turn! duke nothing wrong with tandy in general or working there. from what I've heard toolers/carvers don't have any probs passsing along hints and tips, it's only in my line of leatherwork that no one likes to pass things on. this site is definitely a great thing! other than giving even more ideas, that is! *L* I'm sure you'll thoroughly enjoy making your flogger (including the hands cramping, picking up dropped tools, smashed fingers, poked hands) and it'll turn out great. pimp the site! *L*
-
drooled over your leather goodies plenty!
-
duke alas, my knowledge doesn't go too far past what I've posted up due to the nature of what I was making for a living, but thanks for the kind words! I usually just do slight to extreme variations with me work.

johanna aw shucks! *L* I don't mind. leatheroo no prob.
