  1. What I do for something like that is find the image on the internet and save the image. Then I import it into MS Paint and resize it to the correct size. Once you print it you can trace it on tracing paper. My 2 cents worth. Butch
  2. This is a picture of myself after a rodeo in honor of my dad. The Ken McDaniel Memorial Rodeo, Chino Valley, Arizona. A very long day. This is a picture of my Wife and ElCamino at a local car show
  3. Just wondering how you saddle makers got started; from another saddle maker, books, school, etc... Any preferences on books/DVD's or schools. I think it would be great to be able to make my own saddle someday, but I'm no where ready for it yet. Butch
  4. Very Nice. It makes the guitar straps that I've made look pretty bad. Thanks for sharing it with us. Butch
  5. Very Nice Holly. Makes me want to take up drinking.
  6. Thanks for all of the comments. I'll work on the pear shading Holly. Thanks
  7. Made this for my wife to hold her pens and pencils at work. Tell me what you think. Thanks, Butch
  8. Very nice!
  9. Just at a quick glance there's really some interesting stuff. I'll have to read more later. Thanks

  12. My sister wanted a guitar strap for her son's birthday this month, so I made this for him. He's an Arizona Forest Fire Fighter, so I put some flames to it and shovel and ax.
  13. Tom, I had a long break also. I had a leather craft class in Jr. High back in 71. The only thing that I still have from then is a rifle scabbard that I made for my dad. He passed away in 04, so I now have the scabbard and his rifle. Something I'll pass on to one of my boys someday. Butch
  14. Thanks for the advice Mike. I've seen some improvement in my work and sometimes feel I'm getting better and then I'll make something and it's a wreck. I put it up as rookie mistakes and try not make the same mistake the next time I do something. I've been doing leather craft since January and still really enjoy it. So along with people like you on this forum as well as any other avenue I can learn, I'm sure things will improve with time. Thanks again, Butch
  15. Thanks to everyone for the comments. It's been really fun making it for my friend. ArtS: The patterns and articles are in the latest issue of LCSJ July/August 2008. The article for both the holster and ammo clip were by Dick Sherer. Thanks again
  16. Here's a shoulder holster that I'm making for a friend for his 10mm, ammo clips and mag light. I got the pattern from LCSJ; mainly for the straps and ammo clip covers and then pretty much come up with the rest. I still need to add the back straps. I'm selling it to him also for material + $1. Not too bad a deal. Any suggestions/critisizm or comments are very welcome. tan antique hand sewn bullet conchos holster has mexican round braid lacing
  17. It's all handstitched. I can't afford nor justify a machine just yet.
  18. Here's a cell phone case I made for my father-out-law. It didn't fit his phone though so I'm back to making him a new one. Which is probably a good thing because it's not a very good job.
  19. New notepad cover for work Front Cover: Inside: Back Cover:
  20. I have the one from Tandy. Beaverslayer has a great tutorial on how to use it. Butch
  21. I just picked one up the other day and wondered why I had taken so long to get a round knife. I'm glad I did get it at this price though. Much better than using a utility knife. Butch
  22. Happy Birthday Bruce. Hope you have a great day. Butch

  24. I just wanted to check and see if there is anybody from the Boise, Idaho area. I see a lot of new members in the Member Gallery; but haven't seen anyone from Idaho. Just curious! Butch
  25. Sorry for not commenting earlier; but thanks for everyone's input. I asked my sister about the inlay type and she told me that's not quite what she wanted. Picky woman! Thanks for all of the info Bruce. I was way off base and now you have me going in the right direction. Thanks again to all. Butch
